Under the Hood
Xbox 360 is much smaller than its predecessor–it measures approximately 3.3 by 12.2 by 10.2 inches and weighs 7.7 lbs. It’s powered by custom IBM PowerPC-based CPU with three symmetrical cores each running at 3.2 GHz. It also carries a custom ATI graphics processor loaded with 10 MB of embedded DRAM, 48-way analogous floating-point dynamically scheduled shader pipelines and Unified shader architecture. This is powerful enough to draw 500 million triangles per second. In other words, it makes for splendid looking sports meeting in standard TV definition, and even better thanks to built-in support for HDTV 1080i televisions. It also supports the widescreen 16:9 format.
The unit has a 12x dual-layer DVD-ROM guide, which plays both the game media and progressive-scan DVD movies right out of the box. For game-save and media storage, users can choose between the detachable and upgradeable 20GB hard guide, or a separately sold 64MB flash Memory Unit. By the side of with storing files, the hard guide will make the Xbox 360 backward-compatible with part of the existing Xbox game library.
Control your Gameplay
Xbox 360 uses a refined button layout for its controllers. Back and Start buttons sit at the center of the controller and between them is a new Xbox Guide button, which instantly takes the user to the Xbox 360 user interface. From there, they can check for friends online, access personal digital make pleased like photos and songs, and more. The black and white buttons of the first Xbox controllers have been replaced with new shoulder buttons positioned above the left and right triggers. Xbox 360 can accommodate up to four wireless controllers and has three USB 2.0 slots to use for wired controllers or for streaming your digital media from digital cameras, MP3 players, and any Windows XP-based PC. Microsoft has also made a video-conferencing camera, sold separately, that will work with the system.

The Media Experience
All Xbox 360 titles can be played in either standard or high-definition resolution in 16:9 widescreen, with anti-aliasing for smoother graphics. Game designers will be able to take advantage of the system’s multi-channel surround sound. The Xbox 360’s digital media allows users to supplement any game’s music from tracks in their own personal library.

A built-in Ethernet port allows users to connect their system to a broadband connection for access to Xbox Live. The Xbox Live Silver Membership included with the console lets anyone make a Gamertag and gamer card to express your online identity, chat live with voice chat, and connect to the Xbox Live Marketplace to buy expansions, maps, and other digital items for your sports meeting. You can also update to a Xbox Live Gold Membership at anytime for even more benefits. The separately sold wireless adapter supports the common 802.11a, -b, and -g standards.

The XBO360 is an awesome system & I like it, it is so cool! But the thing that I dread MOST about the 360 is that Red Ring of Death, beacuse of it I couldn’t play my 360 for years! I tried to fix it owing to the video showing me how to fix it and it still didn’t work! So $400 was wasted for me to just use the 360 for 3 years instead of a life time!

Dont buy this product. I bought this and paid for the two day shipping. Well the two day shipping took 6 days. Then when I finally got it one of the controllers was broken and the customer service department told me I would have to send the whole -box and everything it came with back and they would refund me my cash and I would have to buy another one. You are much better off buying a new xbox 360 arcade or a playstation 3.

***edit*** Yes, this review was for the 360 Pro version. I found that out calling Microsoft tech support because, guess what, the system is already overheating and dying.
Plus, Microsoft also has no record of my XBox ever being refurbished, so there is no warranty on it. But the system DID work when it arrived and it has a suspicious small dated sticker on it indicating (I reflect) that it was repaired. Be aware that I DID NOT BUY this system from amazon.com. The company I did buy it from are effective it out. The only question is: Which 360 system will I buy to replace this? 
This is my first Xbox in any form, bought recently as an X-Mas gift for the family (and myself of course) because of the low low price. What I like about this machine- 1) The controllers: The array design is genius, simple to swap out, charge, or use AA batteries. 2) Xbox Game Arcade: Had I known I could play Carcassonne, Settlers of Catan and Magic the Gathering on an Xbox I would have bought one years ago. 3) Pandora Radio: Goodbye CDs. 4) Xbox Live rating system: Having to pay to be online probably attracts a “more mature” gamer to start with (I take upon yourself), but the ability to choose between 4 ratings systems (Family, no cussing) now allows my kid to play online also. 5) No Home: Thank god (j/k Sony).
What I do NOT like- 1) The fan: Way, way too loud. 2) The DVD tray: Outdated clumsy design. 3) No built in wi-fi: What is this? 2001?
But those issues are very minor in the end. Which system is better? Both have excellent and terrible things about them, you have to choose. Or just get both like I finally did.

I HAVE HAD MY XBOX FOR ABOUT TWO WEEKS AND IT WORKING VERY NICE. I WAS DOING A LITTLE RESEARCH AND FOUND OUT THAT THE XBOX REBURB. HAS THE JASPER CHIP SET IN THEM. THATS ALWAYS A PLUS. I WENT ON THE XBOX WEBSITE AND REGISTERED MY XBOX AND COME TO FOUND OUT THAT THE XBOX COMES WITH A ONE YEAR WARRANTY. I BOUGHT A EXTRA TWO YEAR WARRANTY ALSO. SO IF YOU DO THE MATH THATS THREE YEARS… THATS ADVANCE MATH….. ANOTHER GOOD THING ABOUT THIS XBOX IS THAT I COMES WITH A 20GB HARD DRIVE AND TWO CONTROLLERS,HDMI CABLE AND THE CONSOLE HAS THE HDMI INPUT…I THINK THAT THIS IS A BETTER DEAL THAN THE ARCADE VERSION. IF YOU HAVE A XBOX THAT HAVE THE THREE RED LIGHTS OR YOUR XBOX DOESN’T WORK, THIS ITEM IS A GREAT REPLACEMENT.
