Before purchasing this game you should beware that you have to have special controllers. A guitar like used for Guitar Hero that you insert a Wii controller into will not work. There was not anything on the packaging or even in any reviews that gave any clue that it would cost a lot more that just the price of the game to play this. You need some type of Logitech USB device that can be calibrated in order to play this game. Since we didn’t know that until opening and trying to play it, there’s $50+ down the drain or otherwise spend a lot more in order to use it.

got the game for Christmas and kids are having a blast. we started wondering about songs that were not yet on the playlist and assumed we could unlock with further play. then the disappointment – you can buy and download additional songs. this is a bummer considering the game was pricey to start with. so the game becomes an infomercial for some of the better Beatle’s tunes. Guess Nintendo and Paul and Ringo need the cash.

My conundrum with Rock Band: Beatles is the same conundrum with all Rock Band harvest — they just can’t seem to strike a excellent balance between simple to the point of falling asleep (medium setting) and so hard you fail every song (hard setting — several titles later and I still can’t handle that orange fret).
This is in contrast to the Guitar Hero series, that is extremely enjoyable on medium by making it suitably challenging but not discouragingly so.
I guess I should mention I’m in my 40’s and don’t have the time or attention span to play a game 8 hours a day to truly master it. I just want something I can pick up and have fun with.
It probably doesn’t help that The Beatles, who unquestioningly were pioneers who changed the face of music forever, really don’t have the most technically complex melodies compared to more modern tunes.
Lastly, I know it’s impossible to place together a set list that will please everyone (particularly from such an enormous portfolio), but really this volume contained NONE of my favorites. What are the odds of that? There are a few songs I like, but absolutely not anything that really excited me.
Apart from the cool Beatles-specific graphics, this really doesn’t have much to offer anyone but the largest Beatles fan.

My teenage daughter is a Beatles freak. She is loving it. While I like their music, I reflect I have had my fill.

All the Rockband sports meeting are splendid, I just am not a huge Beatles fan. If I had to pick I would get the other sports meeting in the series first, more variety in bands/songs seems to make it simpler for everyone to delight in the game.
