I have a hardwire internet connection at home, so I bought this product to hardwire my Wii as well. But, what the item description does not say is that the connector’s cord is only about 5 inches long. You need to connect it to your ethernet cable. Like most people (I suspect), my ethernet cable will not reach to where my Wii is in my house. So, after purchasing this product, I now need to go buy an extra long ethernet cable. I chose this item because it is much cheaper than buying a router, but now I must spend more cash on the cable so the regard drops. By and large, it’s not a terrible buy, but be aware that unless your Wii is next to your computer, you will need to buy a longer cable as well.

With the Nintendo Wii, many gamers have been hooked with trying to get on the net, and do many things whether it is downloading sports meeting from Nintendo’s Wiiware shop, or chatting with others owing to the the chatting rooms. Nevertheless, there are those that want a quicker way to download and surf the web owing to the Wii. While Nyko’s Wii Net Connect might be a fascinating buy for those who want a quicker connection. But, it doesn’t work as well as Nintendo’s Lan Adapter which you could only get owing to Nintendo’s store website. While it might seem like a excellent buy at $20, it honestly isn’t worth the cash, because it loses the connection after a few times. You’re either better off with the WI-FI connection owing to a wireless router, or sticking with the Nintendo LAN adapter.

Wii net connect works fine, but requires a separate length of cable. This makes any savings on “generic” item nil. Might as well get the official Wii connector.
