Product Description
The Classic Controller is an expansion for the Wii’s Remote. It connects to the port on the bottom of the Wii Remote to allow for wireless connectivity with the Wii console. The shape and stylishness of the Classic Controller is more like the traditional controller design, which allows for ease of use with the classic sports meeting available owing to the Virtual Console.

I bought 3 of these when I bought my Wii. I guess I don’t know what they’re for! I was under the depression they were for using with the grown-up Nintendo Gamecube sports meeting, but they’re not. You still need Gamecube controllers with the Wii if you want to play Game Cube sports meeting. Perhaps they’re to use playing Wii sports meeting instead of the Wii Remote? Why would anyone want to do that? I just don’t know the purpose of this remote.

First off I don’t play virtual console very much so if there appears to be ignorance in that department that’s why.
At first I thought that it was an alternative for the wiimote in all sports meeting as is visible comments, but now I know better. Although you can use it on Brawl, MarioKart and I have heard it is usible for Resident Evil 4. I cannot tell you how it works for Resident Evil 4 because I have not played that game. But I have tried it for brawl and it didn’t work well. My largest complaint is that it feels kind of cheap and it just doesn’t feel right in my hand. It just isn’t comfortable because of the shape. I reflect they should redesign it to be more comfortable.
Now we come to another conundrum I have wih it. A Gamecube controller works with vc too and it fits splendid in my hands. I have heard that the button layout doesn’t work well(GC controller) and I can’t tell you whether that is right or not, but I can say that I can reach any button honestly easily on the GC controller. Plus you can use the GC controller for Gamecube sports meeting so it is a much better regard. In addition to better regard you also don’t have to deal with a wiimote hanging off of the controller and no wire if at all if you get a wavebird controller.
P.S. If anyone want to tell me something incorrect with one of my statements or if you simply have a differing opinion please feel free to write a note, but please be atleast somewhat polite and I will try to respond quickly.

I bought this because I be going to to play a lot of virtual console sports meeting on my Wii, and this resembles the Nintendo NES and Super NES console controller’s which had me thinking it would be splendid to have. It turned out that it is really frustrating to play with.
Unenthusiastic because;
1. Cord is way too small, I mean come on, I’m already meeting close to my TV in my room because it’s cluttered as it is, but this cord wont even reach from my game stand to my bed. Nintendo really messed this up, it’s a lot shorter than the NES and Super NES controller cords, and I’m sure nowadays people would say those are too small since they like to sit further from the TV and for the most part the controllers are wireless. This irritates me so much.
2. For some sports meeting, the A, B, X, & Y buttons do the same thing, (ex: Super Mario Bros. A & X jumps and B & Y shoot fireballs and runs. I always end up hitting the incorrect button because I’m used to the original NES controller stylishness and I end up killing myself in the game. It’s irritating because you can’t save your progress either, so everyday I’m constantly playing the same levels.
3. The cord comes out the bottom of the controller instead of the top of it and it’s irritating when it’s bumping your leg while you’r playing a game, or if you try to cross your legs the cord can get tangled up with you.
4. I knew this before buying it, but I didn’t know the cord was going to be so small. The cord plygs into your Wii Remote, and since it’s so small your Wii Remote slides around. You literally have to be right next to the TV.
The only clear thing I can say for it is that it’s the bordering you can get to the original NES/Super NES controller’s, but I prefer them over this controller. I reflect it could have been a lot better.

Don’t dissipate your cash on this if you already have any GameCube controllers. More importantly, Nintendo will no doubt release a wireless version of these same controllers in under a year. So reflect twice before Nindendo has you spending more cash than you counted on.
