I bought the NYKO charger with NiMH bateries one year and half ago and only use this charger twice. I have to use up all potential of the batteries before I can charge the batteries which is called “memory effect”, otherwise the batteries will be dead very soon. But you can not make the kids to keep this in mind. The touch point between the charger and the base is hard to place in right position to charge even I took the straps off from the remote. I hope NYKO can make some excellent chargers with Li-ion batteries ASAP.

The batteries and case replacement are easily replaced and do what they are supposed to. Charging is quick and lasts a reasonable amount of time (for most gaming sessions). The only complaint is that the straps get in the way occasionally, and it requires the confiscation of the wireless nunchuk dongle (and most likely the upcoming motion-plus dongle) before charging.

When I bought our Wii years ago I bought a set of rechargeble AA batteries for each of the Wii-motes. I found that with heavy use the kids could outlive the batteries, so I bought a second set. I’ve since come to learn that my kids don’t do so well with recharging the batteries and end up taking from the supply of regular batteries. Then, I need batteries for something and the ones that I’ve bought will be gone -and well, you don’t hear the rest (but if you’re my neighbor you probably did). I bought the Charge Station a small time ago and it is fantastic. It comes with 4 array packs, one for each charge slot, and 4 array covers that have a small cutout that allow the array to make friend with the station for simple charging when cradled in the charge station. The charge on the array outlasts the brood ability to play and they recharge back to full strength rather quickly. An added benefit is that there is now a fixed ‘home’ for the wii-motes and it is very visible if any are missing. I am very very pleased with all aspects of this product and only wish I had found it sooner. I’ve read reviews stating that it can be a bit challenging to cradle the wii-mote in station for charging but I am not having this issue at all and in my opinion the LEDs on the front of the station make it very simple to tell that the wii-mote is cradled properly.
