Vegas Sports meeting offers many of the most well loved nightclub sports meeting–craps, video poker, slots, blackjack, keno, baccarat, and the cash wheel–but that doesn’t necessarily mean that it makes any of these sports meeting are fun to play.
A more appropriate title for this game might simply be Sports meeting, since we associate Vegas with excitement and fanfare (both of which are lacking in this title). It’s nearly impossible to tell if you’ve won at any of the sports meeting contained within this bargain pack. Unfortunately, Vegas Sports meeting offers no pointer on your victory. No messages. No flashing lights. Nada. The game doesn’t even have sound effects, which would have been infinitely preferable to the harsh music that plays as you gamble.
Stats are tracked so you can tell how much you’ve won or lost at the various sports meeting, but all records of your victories and defeats are wiped out when the Game Boy is turned off. Video poker is about the only game that is fun to play in this pool, but sadly that isn’t enough to carry the game as a whole. –T. Byrl Baker
