Parasite Rain: Altered Species is an intense game that takes place during a dreary night in a suburban, west coast city in the US. For some time now, mankind has been battling the ferocious and terrifying Nightwalkers, a race of superhuman vampires who crave human blood. People have been disappearing at night; the lucky ones are found dead, but those less fortunate are reborn as Nightwalkers, and are bound by instinct to forcefully recruit unwitting victims into the Nightwalker army. Gamers take the role of John Lloyd, a member of a US special government unit made to defeat the Nightwalkers, and the only human to ever survive a physical encounter with them.

This game is not a blow zombies heads off game. It is a approach. The tale is that these vampires called night-walkers are pretty much destroying the city eating everyone. A special team of spec. ops are place together to place a stop to the destruction. The game play is over the shoulder and a bit hard to control, but has a feature that saves it’s self by being able to place your weapons away. The game is fun, scary, it stratigic and provides hours of hard yet entertaining gameplay.

The above review was indeed penned by an Artoon or Ignition employee. This game is as terrible a contemporary generation game as there is (Metacritic will back me up here). This is a substandard product and should not be bought by anyone for reasons too copious to enlarge upon here. If I could assign half stars I would. Lift your game Artoon.

I bought this game for $10 in the clearance bin at a store yesterday, well there is a reason it is in a clearance bin for $10. It is JUNK! Enough said.

There are reviews here that have mixed feeling about it. But here is my two cents: 1 cent-not splinter cell or metal gear! This game has vampires looking to kill you and eat you. That is what makes it hard to get around. 2 cent-vampires looking to kill and eat you with no where to go if you are seen is what makes this game hard. And there is my two cents. This game was fascinating in what was listed above and I was glad that someone took the time to do something like this but I really wished that they had the fun factor in mind when making this. Like I said before these are vampires and they have a heighten sense of reality but to make it to the point that you can’t even survive long enough to get a feel for it will turn a lot of players off. IF you reflect this is just your average gun and run shooter which is what got me then you are in for a HUGE bolt from the blue. IF reflect that the tactics in Splinter cell and metal gear will get you by then you are in for an even larger disappointment. I can’t say enough that this game just plain out will have you wanting to just fling it against the wall cause its so hard and not fun at all when you reflect about other secrecy sports meeting out there. If you feel that your skills in secrecy are that excellent then here is a challenge for you and in person I didn’t even end it cause of the fact is was jsut frustrating trying to survive long enough to figure out how to get by one or two vampires. And if you are not on the roof in snipeing them off before moving you are dead. And if you shoot one and forget the other then come out of your hiding you are got cause they are moving to the sound of your shot. That is just one example of how frustrating it was. Get this if you reflect you got game but in person this will just piss you off the way it did me.
