I HAVE ALL OF TWISTED METAL GAMES FOR PLAYSTATION. TWISTESTED III IS BY FAR THE BEST, IN MY IN MY OWN OPINION. TWISTED METAL BLACK IS GOOD BUT THE GRAPHICS ARE TOO DARK. TWISTED METAL: HEAD ON IS MUCH LIKE TWISTED METAL BLACK, BUT WITH A LITTLE FAST PACE. I WOULD RECOMMEND PURCHASING THIS GAME

Twisted Metal Head-On was the very first game I bought with my PSP.
It was incredible and still is. So you can presume how I felt
when this EXTRA Twsited Edition was hitting hitting shelves.
Apparently, this is a truer sequel to Twisted Metal 2 World Tour.
The same vehicles but with a few
exceptions to design, characters, and special weapons.
If you are not familiar with the PSP game, I have to mention that with
this, you don’t automatically die if you fall off a cliff. You will
respawn with some of your vitality gone. I would say the second best
part of this game is how balanced it is between the cars. In TM2, I
use to ruin people with Mr. Slam. Yeah, he was slow but if you have
turbo and the freeze blast, you can get in close. Thumper’s special
weapon also did a lot of hurt and he can take some of his own.
Playing the lost TM Black stages was alright, something different.
I don’t reflect I would’ve bought this title just for that. The fact
that I could play Head On using the box is enough for me.
I didn’t give it 5 stars because you can’t play online multi-player.
That is a huge omission if you consider that if they released Twisted
Metal Black on the same console years before this came out, and that
had online multi-player, than there is no excuse not to include it
now. Maybe that is why the price was cheaper upon release. I only paid $20
and now it’s under $15 here on Amazon. More than your cash’s worth!

Wow, what more can I say! This game is tha sizzle! It’s polished, and plays splendid!
I will say that Head On isn’t Dark and Grim like TM: Black. It’s acually more realistic looking, like it could in fact happen. But it still maintains a mature
edge.
But there’s not a lot of Modes, though.
But they still get the job done!
There’s Tale Mode. Learn your Character’s motives in the Profiles and Endings.
It’s lengthy, but a wee bit repepitive and predictable. Each Stage also hides
Mini Game Stages, cunningly hidden, and constructed.
Challenge Mode; is basicly your Battle Mode, only you full reign over your custom
dream matches!
Survival Mode is like Challenge, only it gets right down rto bussiness, pitting you
against Random opponets, where you’ll fight till ya drop!
You can also Save your High Score and Tale Progress, but Reduction a game takes a long time! But it’s worth the wait.
The Options Menu covers the bear essenstials of the Game, the Control Config dosen’t let you map the Buttons as want to, but the Default Control scheme still
works fine.
All these Modes also apply to TM: Lost, the DARK alternate game.
————
I’ll admit the Controls are a small akward. They take getting used to. But the are deceptively unadorned, even if you have press D-Pad Down to go in Reverse.
But the Steering AND Jumping are the best in Auto Combat!! So simple to steer and jump!
The Tale Mode is nice, but repetive. you unlock most of the Cars and Maps this way, but Tale Mode can get a small stale… but it’s still a excellent time!!
There’s LOT’S of tricked out Rides to choose from. Each has unique attributes, and Specialties, and no 2 Vehicles seem to handle the same! No clones!!!!
And the Maps are just as plentiful. And diverse.
The Music and Sounds are loud and clear, but don’t clash with each other, or drown out the gameplay. Music and Sound FX are equally impressive, and both are heard in exact harmony; even when the action gets thick.
The Soundtrack is a deeply varied assortment of Stage specific tunes, and fit their Maps like a glove. And the Sound FX are convincingly real too. All make for a trilling experience.
The Graphics are nearly flawless, and every detail is polished to finest!
And then there’s Twisted Metal: Lost. And the other bonus make pleased and easter eggs.

In small, if you like Car-Fu, GET THIS GAME!!!! I believe it would appeall to
Auto Combat nuts, and Casual Gamers, even Mario Karters. And of course Twisted Metal die-hards!
——-
Just remember- TM: Head On isn’t the Dark Heart that TM: Black was. It’s more casually realistic, minus the unsettling qualities of TM: Black
It does, but, include the altenate Twist Metal: Lost, which is basicly
TM: Black’s ‘lost’ levels. There just as Dark though. Just to let you know.
