120 bucks for these headphone are kinda too much moola for what you get. Its right that you get all the connector for all systems but you can only connect one at a time because there are no multiple outlet. When moving from one system to another you gotta go the whole damn thing(with the unpleasant looking reciever thingymajig). For the xbox if you want to use this and use hdmi to connect to your tv, you’ll need that extra adapter that microsoft is selling for a low low price of 30$. oh yea tons of wires all over the place and switching from system to system to pc can be a real chore. Sound quality is excellent, very crisp and clear, bullet snappin all over every management. I like loud with thumping bass but this just doesnt cut it for me. I would say akin to turtlebeach headset with surround sound. Installation was a not too terrible could be worse. close to plug and play but you gotta do some configuring, not too much tho. I’ll be returning this to get 2 60$ turtle beach headset for my xbox, ps3 and pc just so i dont have to fiddle around with any wires and plugs and potentially pissing my wife off in the process. Recommend if using only for one system.

The tritton ax720 very excellent headset the build quality is excellent so is the simulated surround sound which allows you to pinpoint footsteps and gunfire but the reason i gave this product 4 out of 5 stars is because when you are playingg the is a extremely high pitched beeping noise which you cant really hear but it will give you a headache in a heartbeat the setup is unadorned plug the headset up too the amplifier plug the amplifier up to an outlet and then run the optical cable from the amp to your system and then turn it on so its honestly unadorned but kind of a hassle if you want to use it for other systems cause of the lack of extra optical ports the headset itself does have some weight but it should not bother your neck unless your neck is weak than you will probably have to rest your neck about every hour and a half or so but when you do that you will not have any pain on your ears since the in fact fit inside the earcups but like i said the high pitched ringing left in your ears can really bother you but besides that that the headset is splendid and i would reccomend to anyone

After using the Tritton AX720 for three weeks, I have chose to return it for a full refund. This was in fact my second AX720–the first one had a horrible buzzing sound in the mic where people could not hear me speaking. After troubleshooting the first one, even Tritton admitted it was a defect. But, the game audio worked fine–but I noticed that there was a SERIOUS lack of bass. Thinking there was more that was incorrect with that first AX720, I returned it and got the second (which was just returned). Upon first turning it on, I noticed the same thing about this headset not having ANY bass at all! Apparently this is just how the headset sounds. If you like impactful sound, then the AX720 IS NOT for you! The highs and mids were evenly balanced, but they were very much out of proportion with the low end. This is not a “warm” sounding headset at all.
As for the headset itself, I found it to be extremely uncomfortable when wearing glasses. The conundrum here is that the headset is more like a helmet! It has no flexibility if you have an overly large head or if your head is rather small. For example, a friend of mine who is about 300lbs tried to place the AX720 on his huge cranium–and it literally did not fit at all! It seems that Tritton only wants people with exact-size heads to wear this headset–and are also restricting those of us who need eye glasses. Due to the design of the helmet/headset, it puts a significant amount of pressure on my glasses which caused splendid discomfort even over a small cycle of time. Also, note that the earcups are not oversized either. They visibly sit ON your ears, which can obviously cause your ears to become very uncomfortable. It would have been nice if Tritton thought to use over-sized earcups so the padding would rest on your head and not your ears.
The setup is not overly hard, but I can’t know for the life of me why Tritton would use the small metal connector with microscopic tiny pins that can EASILY get bent. They’re using Dolby Headphone, so a standard 3.5mm audio jack would have worked the same exact way. Instead of the metal connector, a unadorned green and pink jack would have made a lot more sense. It’s obvious that Tritton has small imagination here. Also–and more irritating to me–is that there is no digital productivity on the decoder module! Some of us have home theater systems and don’t want to keep switching the TOSlink optical cable back and forth. Another issue I had with this headset is that the cable is only about 12 feet long. Well, my couch is 14 feet away from my LCD monitor–so I was unable to sit comfortably on my couch without having the cable suspended in mid-air. (An accident just waiting to happen). Isn’t it better to have more cable, rather than not enough?
In summary, I give this product a 2 out of 5. The sound is crisp and directionality is very excellent. Unfortunately, the sound is also lacking quite a bit in the bass department which causes the audio to be uneven. There is small to delight in with the AX720–it’s not usable for movies or music. Design-wise, Tritton did not place much thought into regular everyday usage for us normal people. There are copious improvements I’d look for before I might consider for another Tritton product.
I have since bought the Turtle Beach X41. This is a wireless headset with the same Dolby audio processing. Though I have only owned the X41 for about 2 weeks now, I am comfortable saying that this is a much higher quality all-around product. The sound is well-balanced and there are copious features that I must say are quite useful. I will be reviewing this product before long.
TRITTON AX720 = FAIL!!!

I like this head set, the sound is splendid and loud.
On modern warfare 2 you can head player’s foot step a full 2 sec before you would from the TV speakers, For the first time I heard after explosion sounds like the sound of tiers and pieces of metal falling down from the sky after a car blow up etc…
After hearing 5.1 sound on multiplayer I can never go back to 2.1
Pro: $120 is not terrible for want you get, and it works with PS3, PC and Xbox360 (no wii)
Cons: the head set are huge (very huge) and weight a pound (+/-) and inline controller adds a couple of OZs, 1 hour of play and you will need 10 mins break to relax your neck
If you can’t afford the $170+ sets than this one will over deliver

One word to sum up these headset is: Incredible! First off let me address a lot of the complaints:
1) Headset too Tight/Heavy:
What? Are you honest? These headset leave a pretty excellent amount of room for the largest of heads. I would know because mine is huge! Also the weight of them? I barely recognize the weight even after 2+ hours of gameplay on my PS3!
2)Sound Clarity Poor/Hissing Noise:
As of yet I have not heard any hissing noise or beeping whatsoever. I reflect some of these complaints may be coming from users that set their amp or headset way too close to other electronics or metal objects. Sit back a small-I mean you have like 6ft worth of cord length! Also the clarity is incredible! These are not but, Dolby 5.1 but Pro Logic 2 capable. Nevertheless there is not a whole lot of difference in my opinion. I mean, I played AVP the other night and you can hear aliens coming towards you from their respective directions, your footsteps/guns have so much more depth, every slight, small bang is visibly audible, etc.
3)Set-Up a Bit Awkward/Cables Everywhere!:
Really? The set-up took me less than 5 secs. I had more of a hard time opening the packages for the cables! Cables are not everywhere either. I mean you have 3 cables connected to the amp (AC, Optic, & USB or AUX 4 xbox live-only 2 if you don’t care about chat). And 1 cord connected to the headset. That’s it!
So these are some of the largest complaints: uncomfortable, poor sound, and messy set-up. The only complaint I had was the by and large price. I mean would it be too much to question to make these under $100? I reflect $75 to $99 would be honest. Otherwise if you have an xbox360 and/or PS3 and/or you’re looking to play late into the night without waking the wife & kids and/or you’re looking for an incredible gaming experience that surpasses some of the best surround sound systems-Then get these! Now! What are doing reading this? Go!
