Product Description
The best extreme-sports game ever gets even better in Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3. The elements that made the last two sports meeting a success are back: tight controls, deep trick system, a wide selection of skaters (including Tony Hawk, Bucky Lasek, Rodney Mullen, Chad Muska, Elissa Steamer, and others), and a polished soundtrack (featuring the Ramones, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Motorhead, KRS-One, Redman, and more). Adding to the already brilliant formula is a new trick, updated graphics, and Internet play.
In Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 2, players were introduced to the manual–a go that greatly revolutionized the series’ gameplay. This installment introduces the revert, and while it isn’t as significant an addition as the manual, it does add another layer to the already deep trick system. The game features solid graphics, but a level of detail was sacrificed in order to make the game’s levels so large. There are a few frame skips and polygon clips, but these occasions are rare and do not overshadow the stellar gameplay.
Career mode is as deep as ever, with eight objective-filled levels. In this release-player mode, players traverse their way owing to some brilliantly designed courses to realize high scores, find the letters to the word “skate,” find hidden videotapes, and cooperate with level-specific objects. Two players can participate in the five multiplayer minigames, which include king of the hill, horse, and trick attack. Up to four players can join Internet or LAN sports meeting owing to the use of the PS2 Network Adapter or copious USB devices. Supported USB Ethernet adapters include LinkSys EtherFast USB100TX, D-Link DSB-650TX, SMC EZNET-USB 2102, and SOHOware NUB100. Supported USB modems include Zoom FaxModem 2985L, Pocket NetSurfer NMT00700, MultiTech MT5634ZBA, and Actiontec USB56012-01CW. USB keyboards are also supported, enabling players to type trash online. <Amazon.com Review

We tested Internet play using the LinkSys and a DSL modem; the action was very charming with no noticeable lag. On its own, this is a top-shelf title, but considering its Internet capabilities, there’s no reason for fans of sports, action, and platform sports meeting not to own Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3. This game will satisfy them all. –Raymond M. Padilla
Pros:
- First Internet-capable PS2 game
- Tight, addictive, outstanding gameplay
- Gargantuan levels and plenty of objects to cooperate with
Cons:
- Some minor graphics glitches

I went to the E3 game show and played Hawk 3 for about an hour. It’s the same game as the last two. Ride around and pick up the SKATE letters and the floaty video tapes. They really need to do something new with the game. If you don’t add in a bunch of new gameplay and features (which they didn’t), version 3 of anything gets stale….

TH3 is ok…
The levels are mad gay like foundry, canada, cruiship,
rio, airport. Who gives a crap about skating in the trees, or skating an a freakin airport..!!! OR a cruiship!!!… This game is for kidz…at least the last level could of been more street.. I guess i don’t this game cuz i skate im not used to it… Neversoft proabbly wanted to make more cash by putting kiddy sh*t in it…They should of stuck with the th2 evironemnt. The only two cool levels are los angels and skater island. Th2 is much better because they had real skate levels such as brooklyn banks, like park, and leap of faith. Thats what made th2 cool..thta is why im getting tony hawk2x for x box. because the graphics are nutz….. plus all the same levels from 1 and 2…plus 5 new ones. I guess the graphics are cool and the tricks look a hell of alot better but that about it… IN other words this game is not worth 52.99, but its in the bag. u might as well get tony hawk2x for Xbox..

I have played Tony Halk 3 and it is reLLY GOOD. The graphics are excelent and so is the gameplay!! This snazzy skater is not only a skater game but a first person shooter and a RPG. In the First person shooter mode you ride on you penetrate and shoot and lions and tigers and cantalopes. In the rpg mode you go by the side of in a tale mode with you play the role of tony hawk and his larger adventure yet I frogot to mention how excellent looking the graphics of the lions are they look life like. When you are doing tricks you can place in a code witch i won’t tell you and you turn into a bird and takes you to a whole new flight simulation game!! over all tony hawk 3 is a very excellent game and you should buy it!!
