Sometimes A Killer Body Just Isn’t Enough. Over 15 levels. Battle wolves, bats, bears, alligators, raptors, and even a T-Rex in your quest for Scion.Editorial Review
The first of the now-legendary Tomb Raider sports meeting is a must-have for every gaming fan. You are Lara Croft, a tough, gorgeous, sophisticated female Indiana Jones–reflect of a British Demi Moore in a fedora. Lara climbs parapet, leaps chasms, and generally defies gravity using impressive gymnastics. All of her actions are intricately modeled to produce the lifelike athleticism that made Tomb Raider–and Lara Croft–legendary.
But Lara’s got more than excellent looks and charming moves to help her on her globetrotting quest for relics. Like guns. Lots of guns. Lara starts her adventures with her trademark pistols, wielded John Woo-stylishness: one in each hand. She eventually works her way up to Uzis and even adds a handy shotgun to her arsenal, exact for taking down a troublesome tyrannosaur found in some steamy Tibetan lost world.
Here’s the tale: having made a name for herself as a finder of antiquities, Lara is hired by a mysterious woman to find an artifact believed to have come from Atlantis. Lara travels around the world, plumbing the depths of long- or best-forgotten locales. As she discovers clues to the artifact’s whereabouts, she also uncovers the right motivation behind her employer’s search. The intriguing plot is told owing to gorgeous computer animation movie cutscenes interspersed throughout the game’s episodes.
As you venture to and owing to various ancient tombs, a host of enemies and puzzles await you. In fact, it is the puzzles that will keep players interested even after the challenge of killing enemies has passed. Also hidden throughout the game are a number of secret rooms and hidden treasures, unnecessary for completion of the game but adding a level of difficulty and replay regard.
Being one of the few video game characters to grace mainstream magazine covers, Lara Croft is part of video game history. Ravenous fans have demanded three sequels, with the fourth installment, Tomb Raider: The Last Revelation, due in late 1999–and a live-action movie in the works. And it all started with this game, the original Tomb Raider. –Allen Stewart

- Splendid graphics
- Fun camera angles
- Complex puzzles require time and thought
- Entertaining plot, well-directed movie scenes

This game is ok, I guess…. I don’t really know why you got to kill animals and things… This game is too dungeons and dragons for me… I like more action, sports meeting you don’t have to reflect so much…. graphics are excellent, and I am sure alot of people might delight in it…. It is just too slow for me…..

From the ancient Incan ruins of Peru, the classical Greek-Norse Roman world, the Eygptian pyramids and tombs, to the lurid fantisy dreamworld of Atlantis, this game is a right classic and simply the best game in the series. Here are some examples:
-Brilliant 3-D levels such as:
1.Caves
2.City of Vilcambamba
3.Lost Valley
4.Tomb of Qualopec
5.St. Francis’ Folly
6.Colosseum
7.Palace Midas
8.The Cistern
9.Tomb of Tihocan
10.City of Khamoon
11.Obelisk of Khamoon
12.Sanctuary of the Scion
13.Natla’s Mines
14.Atlantis
15.The Splendid Pyramid
-Splendid weapons such as:
Pistols
Shotgun
Magnums
Uzis
-Deadly enimies such as:
Creatures of Atlantis,
wolves, alligators,bears,raptors
and a T-Rex
-Splendid items for puzzels such as:
All kinds of keys, a gold idol, lead bars,
machine cogs, and artifacts of Eygpt
Also a splendid plot! In her first adventure, Lara sets out to find the Scion, an artifact of Atlantis. Natla, who sends her out on her informat, haunted me troughout the game by setting out a squad of idiots who kept on shooting at me when I least expected. I managed to beat the whole game without a guide (mabye with a few tips but not anything else) but it wasn’t simple. The game is filled with impossibilities. The first level made me reflect this would be a nice simple action game, but as I kept on playing I found out I was extremly incorrect. But its a wonderful game nothingless. People who play will be stunned for days. I highly call it my favorite game yet.

I’m going to glide in the face of caucus wisdom and assert that Tomb Raider is not a excellent game. I like the concept, the puzzle solving and exploration. I like that it’s a splendid diversion from the standard shoot-em up. The conundrum is with the tedious game play. The game is tough, just from the mental standpoint and it takes some effort to figure out what you’re supposed to be doing in each level. But that’s part of the fun, figuring things out. Unfortunately, it’s moving owing to the levels and getting from point A to point B that is problematic. There are way too many places where you have to make a pinpoint precision jump or other go with absolutely NO margin for error. In some cases this means you fall somewhere and have to climb back to your starting point, or in some cases you die, meaning you have to start the whole level over again. And after trying one of these jumps over and over and over, you finally get frustrated and give up. There were instances where I tried a jump over and over, and then suddenly made the jump and had no thought what I had done differently from the previous copious attempts. For any game to be that touchy is just a disgrace. It’s too terrible, I reflect I could have liked this game but the tedious pinpoint controller movements ulitmately ruined the game for me. I know it’s one of PSX “greatest hits” and very well loved, but if don’t like tedious sports meeting, you’ll want to avoid this one.
