If you’ve never heard of it, look up Securom. It’s a fun small program that auto installs itself, hides itself, destroys your drivers, and makes backdoors for Malware to attack your computer. Sony made it to stop piracy, but never bothered to let anyone know it was even on any disks, or what the hurt could be once on your computer. Any program that could possibly be used to copy/write anything is instantly disabled by Securom, including your CD/DVD drivers.
Apparently, Securom was secretly written into several Sims2 EP’s, including Teen Stylishness Stuff. Now, I have no thought if the TS here will cause the same problems. Stuffpacks that have Securom aren’t supposed to activate the Securom feature until you try copying the game, but I honestly don’t know. EA buried everything to do with Securom on their site last I checked, so I don’t know if installing this stuff pack will come with Securom hiding underneath. There is supposed to be a full confiscation tool for Securom, but since it never even tells you it’s installing, you have to wait until your computer is messed up before you even know Securom is on there.
I’ve also found out if you have the Bon Voyage EP, the expansion with the most aggressive Securom on it, installing these stuffpacks that have Securom hidden underneath will leave your computer just as messed up as Bon Voyage will. There’s something about that expansion that makes the stuffpack’s Securom go haywire.
Securom is currently on the following Sims sports meeting: Bon Voyage, Deluxe, Teen Stylishness, H&M, and Pet Tales. As I said, there is a full confiscation tool for Securom on EA’s site, but without Securom installed, those sports meeting will not work. You would have to keep Securom installed to even use the game you paid for, on the computer you paid for, complete with new glitches and system failures that you had no thought you paid for.
University itself is a excellent game. It’s got the standard bugs, but not anything unlivable. My beef is with the Teen Stylishness pack. I’ve never bought nor installed that pack due to dread of Securom and what it could do to my computer, nor do I ever plot to. Most places aren’t very clear as to whether or not the stuffpacks will hurt your computer, nor are they clear whether when combined in these collections the Securom program (though virus is a better term for it) comes with it. It’s up to you if you feel comfortable taking that kind of risk. I in person don’t. I reccomend buying University by itself and avoiding Teen Stylishness.

this game is absolutely fun beyond fun. the amount of detail they place in university is beyond comprehension.
before you even get to college, if you did excellent enough in your school work, you can apply for scholarships and get a max of about 6500 if you passed school with an a+. only young adulthood can go to a university. you can pick three different schools of you choice. they all offer the same stuff. or you can make your own university. after you get there, you immediately become a young adult.
you have freshy, soph, junior, and senior years to go to. each year has 2 semesters and each semester lasts 3 sim days or 72 in game hours or 72 minutes in real life. you are in school for a total of 24 days and while in school you dont age. you only become a young adult in college. if you dont go to college you wont become a young adult. you will go from being a teen to an adult.
you can live in a dorm with other sim students, go to greek house (fraternity or sorority, you can be either/or without regards to what sex you are), or rent your own house on campus. living in the dorms is free, but it may slow your computer down a small since its so many sims on screen. i dont know if living in the greek house is free or not but thats a small bit better than a dorm from what i heard and having your own rented house is excellent to but its pretty expensive. you can have a roommate if you want.
you go to class, you have to do homework assignments, write term ID on the computer, pick 1 of 11 majors (you can switch your major as many times as you want until you get to your senior year then you are stuck with no matter what major you have and you dont have to pick a major your freshy year if you dont want to, but you do your sophmore year). at the end of every semester you have to take a final exam. depending on how much homework you did will determine your final grade at the end. if you get top marks, you will get 1200 dollars at the end of the semester in the form of a grant and get on the deans list. you can party a lot if you want and not do any work but you risk getting on literary probation which means you do again the semester. you fail a second time then you get kicked out of school forever. you can drop out to if you want, but thats no excellent now is it?
theres a lot to this expansion pack than meets the eye. you have to play it your self to really get a understanding of it all. as far as bugs are concerned i havent experienced any, so as far as i know there are none. i bought my version last week sometime so they probably fixed the bugs in the sports meeting. the other stuff you get with this pool is just that, stuff. just to add more to the core game.
i highly recommend this game. the only thing with the university pack is that you dont really get anything else out of it except that you can start a career higher up than at the bottom like you would if you didnt have a degree. you only gain more cash and maybe even some more friends. matter of fact that nearly seems to copy real life colleges. nearly.

I like the Sims, but this expansion and the stuff packs that come with it still don’t have a lot of “stuff.” I guess I got spoiled by the first Sims for PC and Sims 2 for PS2…seems like there was more furniture, clothes, decorations, and objects than I’ve seen with Sims 2 for PC.
But by and large, fun game, splendid graphics, runs smoothly.
