I spent about 6 hours on my own trying to get this to run, and it made me update my video drivers (my computer is VERY high performance) and once this was all done my computer crashed and was left in such a poor state that I had to have a qualified computer repair technician spend two hours to salvage the situation. I am currently back to where I was before, able to use my computer and do everything I did before, and the game in fact runs, but it runs so slow and sluggish that it is beyond pathetic. The technician said that my computer is fine and that not anything is incorrect with the drivers or anything of that sort. In small, he concluded that the game is worthless and that I should seek a refund from the manufacturer. It will run occasionally, but when I click to give an order to a unit it freezes for 30-50 seconds, unfreezes, the order starts to be executed, then it freezes again, then it unfreezes, then it crashes… I don’t know why I paid 38 dollars for that…

I got this game back in march for 50$. i imediotly downloaded it and started a skirmish level at simple. I eventualy noticed that simple didn’t mean the same thing in this game. I was attacked nearly as soon as it started. Aparently they place this handicap system in the give you more control over difficulty level. This may sond excellent but unless the enemy is handicaped under 70% they completly ruin you quickly. The new factions are fascinating but are not all that differant from the other. I also find it frusterating that the only rohan units in this game as the heros and the hoarsemen. There is no rohan arcitexture eather. THe campain is also much shorter and less fascinating. But fotress building is fun. The powers you can get have been added to and are much cooler. There are also many new heros from the new and ancient factions. There is also a cool make a hero feature that will keep you ocupied for a wile. Although the factions are very similar the new and ancient ones are more fascinating to play. Over all this game is pretty excellent. But get the first one first.

I bought this game for the sole purpose of playing online. Too terrible the online part of the game doesn’t work. (The fact that a patch is ALREADY available just reeks of the fact that they rushed this out without proper testing.)
So heres my tale. I logged on no conundrum. I tried to host a game. The game locked up my system. Now I can’t log on at all. I recieve the message “Can not complete transaction in the contemporary service state.” This has got to be the most cryptic error message since Windows 95. Having no clue what the message means I attempt to call technical support. Excellent luck there. First off the menu system makes you listen to SEVEN options for the game Battlefield 2 before you can access an option for ANY other game. I guess battlefield 2 is even less ready for release than this one was. After finding the right option, I was subjected to what HAS to be the most obnioxious wait music of all time for SEVEN minutes before a recoreded voice told me my wait would be TWENTY-FIVE more minutes.
Maybe their online support would be better right? Incorrect. After filling out a lengthy report of my conundrum, the website told me I was not able to submit it because java scripting was not enabled on my browser. The only conundrum is that it IS allowed. Excellent job all around EA. I will NEVER buy from them again.

I bought the Collector’s Edition. Install went smoothly, game startup got me the message that I needed to penetrate the game disc. So I verify that I have the game disc, and get the same message. Swap the discs, get the same message.
I spent several hours going owing to the support steps on the website, and the phone support person was kind enough to read where it says deep in the manual that some Sony-brand DVD players will not work. That would have been helpful to know before I bought the DVD version.
I am now at the point I don’t care how excellent the game is, I’m not spending another second to make it work. Stay away from the DVD version.
