For those who remember Kage from the NES this game is sure to be a hit. Got it for DH last Christmas and it is one of his favorite sports meeting.

I’m a huge fan of some of the retro revival going in gaming (HD remixes, modern port anthologies, sequels/remakes, etc.) The GBA in particularly was fantastic for bringing some splendid sports meeting back, and I guess part of me still prefers the more simplistic ancient school controls and simplicity versus having to deal with fifty button combinations to go with my state of the art graphics. (I use my DSi more than my PS3.)
I never played the original “Legend of Kage” but I’ve played akin sports meeting, and once you sit down with this, it will feel familiar to many of the 2-D ninja/fighting platformers of the 8 and 16-bit generation, but there are some new moves and features added to this sequel to make it appealing and challenging to contemporary gen. gamers.
As a casual gamer, the difficulty level feels about right to me…not too terribly simple, but not insanely hard or hard to learn either. Each level is divided into sections, and if you lose all of your shape, you can restart at the contemporary section, instead of having to go owing to all sections of the level from scratch. You can also revisit levels you’ve beaten to learn all the hidden secrets, or to increase your score, etc.
This is a bargain price as you can see and as others have noted, it’s not on par with the superb retro upgrade “New Super Mario Bros” but for a “modern” sequel to a retro beat ‘em up, ninja adventure, it’s quickly become one of my favorite sports meeting.

Splendid side scrolling ancient fashioned ninja fun. I’m on the 7th level so far and I reflect I’ve killed about 12,000 ninjas to get there. Its a excellent game for a grown up gamer like myself who has no desire to be in 1st person, 3-d, virtual reality, or no matter what. Run, jump, slash punks with a sword, and take out fools w/ chinese stars. Sounds cool doesn’t it? Also a excellent game for younger kids (my own for sure) because its not too complicated. They can run, jump, slash punks with a sword, and take out fools w/ chinese stars. Pretty simple huh?
All in all, a splendid game at a low price groundbreaking new. (Raise your hand if you reflect all DS sports meeting should be 20 bucks)

I loved the original Arcade game and I was keenly awaiting this release. I grew up in the late 80’s/early 90’s and loved playing the Ninja Gaiden and Mega Man sports meeting for the NES, making this game right up my alley. The gameplay is unadorned but fun. I like how you can do all the cool ninja things like throwing shurikens, jumping 500ft into the air and climbing parapet. This game kind of reminds me of the NES Ninja Gaiden sports meeting but set in feudal Japan.
Pros:
-NINJA’S!
-Excellent Control
-Solid action platformer
-Game has the Japanese in-game voices
-Unlockable techniques and artwork
-Two main Characters to chose from
-Dialouge scenes inbetween levels
-Stage brilliant option(once levels are complete)
-Unlike the original, you in fact get a life bar
Cons:
-Might not appeal to fans of more modern action sports meeting
-Game might be a small too simple for hardcore gamers
-Levels can be slightly repetitive
By and large a excellent solid action game. If you were a fan of the original Legend of Kage, or just want to add an ancient school action platform game to your DS library, you can’t go incorrect with this title!
