I like sports meeting like this and I always have. Building your party, strengths, stylishness and alignment. The graphics and tale are splendid and plays on the DSi very well. A pleasure to play and with the make character and a whole party for that matter. Try this one now it even comes with a cd of the sports meeting music which is quite excellent.

Real fun game for the cash.A grown-up school game that reminds me of grown-up wizardry titles.

Dark Spire is a game based off of ancient-school Western RPGs. If you’ve ever played a wire-frame, first-person dungeon-crawler, you’ve got a pretty excellent thought of what you’re getting into.
For fans of the genre, this is a splendid buy. The gameplay is tough and pitiless compared to most modern RPGs, requiring that you cautiously explore the Tower – the Dark Spire – that the game gets it name from.
This is not a game for the inexperienced and impatient – that said, if you’re willing to place time and effort into the game, it’s an extremely rewarding experience.

Okay, first off, this game is HARD. This is not a hand holding, at a snail’s pace get your feet wet kind of game. It’s possible that the first enemies you encounter could wipe out your party. This game is all about at a snail’s pace grinding and building up levels and characters abilities. I find it to be tons of fun! It’s splendid to just pick it up to kill fifteen minutes or to play for a few hours and really get some experience. There’s small tale, and some might find that detrimental but I find it refreshing. Unlike the overblown dramatics of contemporary RPG’s this one is just about combat and resource management. The graphics are also cool. The more modern look has a Shadowgate kind of feel with some comic like art, while the classic look reminds me of early Wizardry like sports meeting. This game is awesome. If the lack of tale doesn’t bother you and you want a GOOD dungeon crawler this game is the one. Now go grind some levels!

The Dark Spire is a throw back to the early RPGs of computer keyboard typing and very retro machine like sound effects. But it translates into one of the best hard core RPGs the DS has to offer.
There has been comments of incredibly hard learning curve, very small info on the game and game mechanics. I want to tell all people on the fence about this game it is not that hard to figure out. The puzzles in the game are meant to be hard though, that is part of the fun factor of this game.
OK now to the game. Two methods of play ancient school(Wireframe and clanky sound effects, blast from the past) and new school(3D environments with dungeon type music and upclose monster drawings). You are able to change from one or the other at will, when paused via a menu selection. Choices for starting group/party is Warrior, Thief, Priest and Mage. I suggest making one of each and keep rerolling stats to get everything as close to “13″ as you can. No spoilers just trust me.
Game mechanics are unadorned. Typical town environment where you buy weapons, armor, items, heal, rest etc. and off you go to the tower. Once in the tower it is a menu stylishness turn based battle system with typical RPG elements like attack, spell, item, run etc. It adds a small approach by allowing for different formations of you group allowing for more attackers in front or less whichever is your play stylishness.
Game play in this game is splendid. At any time you can come across a group of monsters that can completely wipe out your group. Those random encounters can be nail biters depending on who shows up. In the tower the game has very fluid movement and MASSIVE levels to explore with secret doors on every level to unlock even more area to explore. I am 10 hours in and have just now made it to the second floor, there is ten floors to explore.
Customization in this game is what really makes this game shine. No matter what your play stylishness is you can do it in this game. The leveling system allows you to choose where to level the character the computer does not do it on its own. If you want certain characters to have skills from several different classes then you are able to level them in view of that. Example my entire party has the ability to cast mage spells. Later in the game specialty classes are unlocked for even more variety.
By and large, oustanding game I am hooked. If you are looking for a dungeon crawler with a splendid character development engine this is the game you want. Do not be discouraged at first, once you get the feel for the game you will learn how to conquer the tower. The best option for beginners the save anytime anywhere ability of this game allows for an simpler beginning. Then you will be sucked into one of the greatest ancient school sports meeting to come out in a long time. Highly recommended!
