Fans were surprised to hear that the third game in the well loved Syphon Filter series would be built for the PlayStation. We’re going to have to wait another year for the series to jump over to the PlayStation2, but that’s all right, because playing Syphon Filter 3 on the PlayStation is like coming home again. You again play as Gabe Logan as he tracks terrorists, enemy spies, and the Syphon Filter virus. The tale has Congress getting involved and in fact trying to pin the virus conundrum from the first two sports meeting on Gabe and his partner Lian Xing. Gabe must clear his name and save the world again. Fascinatingly, the missions are played out of order, as Gabe and his team clarify their past missions to the committee; it’s a flashback structure that keeps the game refreshing.
The Syphon Filter sports meeting have never been for the weak-skilled. Syphon Filter 3 features location-based hurt (a head shot is fatal), making it either frustrating or exhilarating, depending on how you look at it. The controls are as open as they’ve always been, and the camera system doesn’t fail, which is a rarity in third-person action sports meeting. The graphics are quite excellent for the PlayStation, if only slightly improved from Syphon Filter 2. The gameplay is extensive, with not only the tale-based missions, but also some minigames and a multiplayer option that lets you gun for a friend in head-to-head combat. Given the flashback nature of the missions, Syphon Filter 3 might be perplexing for new players, but fans of the series should delight in it, and it would make a excellent companion buy with the earlier classics. In many ways the game feels like an expansion pack to Syphon Filter 2, which isn’t a terrible thing at all. This compelling game proves there’s life yet in the ancient PlayStation. –Bob Andrews

Solid Snake is always given hard mission when he wants to stay in Alaska with his dogs-of coarse Sam does a mission ever year but he was in operation “CHAOS THEORY” so Gabe shouldda done it.

Gabe Logan and Lian Xing are back and now they to stop mara who survived the first two and the secreatary of state who everyone found was the new terrible guy in SF3 if you beat the game.Now he’s after Gabe and Lian again. It’s a splendid game which lots of people will delight in.

I’m sorry, I cant slap on the kudos that the other Syphon Filter die hards did for this version. I thought Syphon Filter 1 was the best console game available when it came out, Cycle. Really excellent first person action and controls that were superbly open.
Syphon Filter 2 came on 2 CDs and was truly massive with lots of well thought out sections and brilliant challenges.
Syphon Filter 3 is exactly what I said it is. A series of OK to Lame leftovers they didn’t reflect were worth including in 1 and 2.
In case you didn’t know, the company that produced one and two sold out before three and it is completely obvious that the people who cludged together 3 were using the leftovers.
One and two broke a lot of new ground and the increased scale of two alone justifies it, but 3 does not anything new and is kind of like one of those Death Wish 13 movies. They really should have bunged at two in this case. This even came in a 2 cd box (with only one CD and a lame small meaningless pamphlet)
They obviously had more plotted, but chose just to exploit Syphon Filter fans instead, [taking cash] out of them before they learned the truth.
Sorry Guys, your first two were splendid, but this one is pure financial exploitation.
MGS2 on the PS2 is intriguing, but really wordy and a small strained in the control department even if you don’t like right first person as much as I do.
But, Halo on the Xbox is the new best console shooter, Cycle!
Played owing to Heroic level, hard but splendid fun. Legendary is continuous Suicide, also Cycle.
If you like shooters, it is time to go on.
