I got this game because I am obsessed with sushi…the ingredients, making it, eating it, the culture, everything! What I liked about this game was how accurate it is as far as actual sushi preperation. You need to be precise and disciplined to make it in real life, and the game is honestly challenging as far as that goes. The graphics are very clear and sharp, the sound effects are cute, and the general gameplay is excellent.
What i didn’t like was the storyline…mostly because there is none! Besides earning medals for preparing each type of roll, there is really no guide to the game. Not anything like “Youda Sushi Chef” (for PC) where you own your own restaraunt, make various rolls for customers and can make upgrades to your restaraunt based on how well you do each day. I pick up this game every once in a while and play it for a small bit, but never for very long. It’s not addicting, which is how I like my sports meeting to be! Maybe “sushi go round” will be better, from the previews it looks nearly exactly like my PC game.

This game was such a disappointment! It is like the dumbed-down version of cooking mama. Super slow and dull. I was lost interest after the 2nd round. All the types of sushi are nearly the same and if you make one mistake during your ‘final exam’ you have to start all over. I like cooking and restaurants sports meeting but would not recommend this for anyone.

It’s kind of Cooking Mama experience, but due to the matter – japanese kitchen – it’s very fresh and entertaining. What I liked about the game was very excellent selection of sushi to make (and those are based on real-life recipes!). Graphics are simply splendid (they place Cooking Mama to bring shame on) and the japanese voice-overs add very nicely to the feel of the game. Music could be more japan-stylishness. What is splendid addition is the fact that you get medals for your meals, so there is always this urgent feeling that you can and must do gold for each of the dishes. Recommended and not only to sushi-loving fans!

Sushi Academy is a very fascinating cooking game that fully concentrates on sushi preparation. This really helps the game – recipes presented are real and precise to the level you could in fact try preparing your own dishes after playing the game. Speaking of it – dishes are varied, minigames fun and well balanced – to the point of being addictive. I also reflect it is more challenging that some other sports meeting I tried – especially exam mode.
And there is Sushipaedia – a pool of quite useful information about sushi – including its history, ration methods and well loved recipes. After browsing it I really started thinking that I could prepare some sushi without poisoning my family
Excellent fun and five stars from me !
