I just place in an order for Starry Night Pro v.5 – but wanted you to know that I in person left a message for the company in regards to the unenthusiastic pointer I reviewed here on Amazon. I was a small nervous about purchasing until I could get some clarity from their staff.
One of their customer service reps called me back in less than 2 hours and discussed each of the points – so I’m at least feeling excellent that there is a voice on the other line to help me should there be issues when I receive the software. He seemed to believe that those issues have been resolved or unique.

I bought this product (Starry Night Pro 5.0) after I researched it from [...] website, because my curiosity was tickled after viewing a video on The Bethlehem Star. ([...]) Is it right? Was it a comet or a meteor? Was it a shooting star? Did it really happen? Well, This Astronomy Software can go back into time, around 4,500 years into the past and way into the future with clockwork precision. God has a grand way of letting man know He truly is! Wow, Miraculously Incredible! Well, if I had any doubt by faith???, ( This software; Starry Night Pro 5.0 Vanished that doubt away!!!) Well, mankind always exclaims; God is a myth, or If He really exsist Why can’t it be proven scientifically? ( I too have thought in such a way).
In all fairness to the software that I may not demean or degrade it’s purpose or worth. You may witness Lunar and Solar eclipses past, present or future, constellations, planets and so much more see website at [...]

I ordered the download version. After at least 20 attempts at downloading and installing, and repeated suggestions from Imaginova’s cutomer service, I finally gave up!

Please be aware that this program is not nearly as stable as version 4.5. Here are the issues I have with this new version, besides the crazy price:
1.) After repeated attempts to install the program from the provided CD, I had to copy the contents to the hard guide to get the installation to work.
2.) Registration is now FORCED. In the past Imaginova provided the registration number with the product, not anymore.
3.) I have the latest video card on the market, yet any attempt to view the Milky Way results in a program crash.
4.) The new interface takes up too much space…and what happened to the slider bar on the zoom!? Poor handling of how to adjust time and date.
Generally I suggest that this software is significantly overpriced. Add to that the take-it or leave-it attitude with the Imaginova staff, and your better off reduction your cash. Get the cheaper version or just go to the now updated RedShift.
