New to the series is the ability to play as Sheila, thekangaroo; Sergeant Byrd, the flying penguin; Bentley, the Yeti; and Agent 9,the space monkey. In Year of the Dragon, Spyro still has all of hissignature moves–as well as the special moves he learned in Spyro theDragon 2–and can control such vehicles as tanks, submarines, andspeedboats. Bah another spyro game. Zzzzzzzzzz….. Oh excuse me I nearly dozed off at the thought of another spyro game for the PS. The game and tale again is very excellent but with the new PS2 coming out i reflect the developers should have chose a different console. The game is more of a cartoonish game like Mario 64 but the playstation can no more deliver the charming vibrant colors of a cartoon. The PS2 or Nintendo 64 would have been a better choice for this game preferably N64 because of its brilliant adventure platformers.
Not a total blow to the spyro series but the game designers just spitout more sports meeting for more cash when they could have taken the time to develop it better.

As an adult I find this game extremely dull. Basically you are a small dragon and hop around to recover dragon eggs stolen by some evil beings. Your primary weapons are your body and the fire coming out of your mouth. The graphics is very unadorned (ok, maybe because I have a PS2 I keep forgetting this game was designed for PSX), and the controls (like most Sony sports meeting) are more complicated than necessary. The gameplay is repetitive and very tedious. And the characters, when they talk to you, talk in text, not voice. Very lame.
If you want to play this game, rent it, don’t dissipate your cash buying it. It’s pretty simple to end all the levels in a day or two.
