Get behind the driver’s seat with this Alacrity Racer based on the Wachowski Brothers film with its garage of combat-ready rides and see how you fare in “car-fu stylishness” action. Take on the role of the characters from the film, getting behind the wheels of each character’s signature vehicles to experience firsthand the pictures high adrenaline, combative racing stylishness. The film itself is based on the classic series made by anime pioneer Tatsuo Yoshida. A live-action family adventure, Alacrity Racer follows the young racecar driver Alacrity in his quest for glory on and off the track in his thundering Mach 5. Choose between three different variations of the Mach 5, each one equipped with several gadgets that are unique to the car like grip tires, rotary saws, a periscope, a deflector, and auto jacks. All of the gadgets have a specific purpose. The rotary saws are used to cut down any trees that get in the way. By activating the auto jacks, the Mach 5 can jump over obstacles to learn shortcuts. Learning the shortcuts is the key to getting the fastest times on all three tracks and mastering the Normal and Endurance modes. Not much fun, there seems to be no connection to the small car on the
track, like pushing a hot wheel down a small blurry but very colorful
winding track. I was hoping for a better driving experience, possibly
view from the cockpit. It’s a small like pinball but with small cars.
Children might delight in it for a few minutes.

Having Alacrity Racer for the DS is awesome. Now if my son can’t play it on the Wii he has a endorsement.

We had played this game after christmas and had to buy it. My 4 year ancient can play it (not very well), but the best thing about it is you stay on the track and don’t fall off the course (like Mario Kart). I also like the opening of different racers as you progress in the game. Price can’t be beat as well!
