Spawn

Make pleased advisory: Realistic blood and gore, realistic violence
Straight from the fiery pits of Hades (and the folks at Capcom, of course) comes a devilishly addictive video game with action to spare. Based on the comic book by Todd McFarlane, Spawn has become a flourishing cartoon, a mediocre movie, an action figure, and, with the advent of Spawn: In the Demon’s Hand, a video game.
Spawn’s entry in the video game world is not so much a fighting game by the side of the shape of Virtua Fighter, but more akin to a smaller scale Gauntlet Legends, with potential-ups and weapons that lie around a 3-D landscape that’s filled with ferocious enemies. Spawn: In the Demon’s Hand offers three distinct fighting modes–team, battle royal, and boss–and features graphics that are so sharp, it feels nearly like you’re playing one of McFarlane’s comic-book characters come-to-life.
Unfortunately, the game’s controls are somewhat hard to master–movement is controlled by the digital pad, and aiming is performed with the analog joystick. Add the incredibly quick action and multiple characters on the screen, and you’ve got what can be sometimes a perplexing mess.
The faint of heart will be pleased to see that, by the side of with toggles for the skill and volume levels, Spawn: In the Demon’s Hand features a three-stage violence option that allows the player to ease the gore. Parents should note, but: even with the violence level turned all the way down, Spawn’s thought of conflict resolution still involves a magic chain to the noggin. –Benjamin Reese
Pros:
- Incredibly rendered graphics
- Characters right to McFarlane’s comics
Cons:
- Nonintuitive controls can be hard to handle
- Some might be turned off by demonic themes and violence
- Simple to lose track of extremely quick action

The game looks as to if it has alot of excellent graphics. The villans are the ones who come from the comics right to the video game. It would make the game an intense and most wanted to play game.

I delight in action sports meeting a lot, but this one will frustrate you more than anything. I truly reflect that the only reason anyone is giving it clear reviews is because they hope to dupe you into suffering the same as they are. The game is utterly revolting. You will notice that if you play release-player boss battles, you will be given an option to play with a CPU partner. Not terrible, unless they have terrible AI. I literally shook my head in laughter as my partner run off the cliffs versus the last boss, not just once, but constantly…The only way to stop him was the potential button. Which reminds me, a lack of going back in menus, if you choose one mode the only way to get to the main menu again is that lovely potential button. Also must get use to the fact you will die a lot and I do mean a lot. A boss can kill you will one or two hits. Guns are a small too powerfully, you will find yourself getting stuck in a barrage of bullets that will stun you and push you away from the shooter. And of course by time you get back up and your hit again with more bullets…lovely. Speaking of guns, what the hell are they doing in a battle between heaven and hell? Spawn with all his glorious undead powers is stuck with a machine gun. How sad. Camera is yucky to some I’ve played with, but it really isn’t all that terrible. Before you buy, RENT IT! Really rent it!

Some splendid graphics, mounds of gore, and an nearly un countable amount of hidden characters make Spawn a splendid game. If you like the all out shoot-em-up sports meeting then you will like this one. If your into the DOA’s or the Tekken then you might not like this, but if you like violence and battle then not many sports meeting give you the quick action as Spawn: in the devils hand.
