By the side of with trying SFIV, I also had the chance to try out this cool-looking wireless controller. While it’s practical in that it has all the buttons on the face, it doesn’t seem to take long to run out of juice. That and it’s still tough to do special moves with the circular D-pad. Fortunately, the same company that made this has also made joysticks.
This product has small parts that may present a choking hazard.

I just got my fight pad 4 my ps3 a couple of weeks ago and in less then a week the wireless recevier went terrible, but madcatz replaced it 4 free.(i dont know if they will replace it again 4 free if it breaks again).I own a couple fight pads 4 my xbox360 they are wired and they work splendid,on the other hand the ps3 fight pad is wireless and requires batterys(batterys not included).Incomparison the ps3 fight pad miss fires a lot while im playing which is a resolution no no when playing fighting sports meeting, especially while playing online. Then there is the issue with the turbo function the ps3 turbo function is incredibly slow(no quicker then u pusshing the buttons ur self)while the xbox360 fight pad has right turbo(way quicker then u can push the button)Things like this are crucial in online gaming.I spar 2 a madcatz repsentative about this while i was reordering the new wireless reccevier,he told me its not really a issue 2 them.So i dont no if its my controller thats flawed or the entire line of ps3 fightpads. This product turned out 2 be a dissipate of cash, the ps3 fightpad does not go as well as the xbox360 fight pad, now I plot on getting a XCM adapter that will allow me 2 use my xbox360 fight pad on my ps3.

This is the best fighting pad out there because there aren’t any other options. I bought the 360 version because the D-pad on the normal 360 controller is horrible. The DualShocks D-pad is much better. I have a few issues with the quality of this pad. It’s a bit on the large side, the buttons are a bit clicky (like the springs inside aren’t pushing up hard enough) and feel cheap. I loved the 6 button controllers for the Genesis back in the day and the way the buttons felt soft and open to the touch. The rubber on the bottom feels excellent and the graphics are splendid. Even though it has it’s issues this pad in fact works well, after a few hrs of play time you’ll be pulling of moves with ease. If they redesigned this controller to be smaller, more comfortable, and used better quality materials, i would recommended it more, i would probably own a few. I was plotting to buy 2 of these but I reflect one is enough.

Madcatz has made a decent controller. It’s much better than the Sony controllers for pulling off special moves and hard combos. It also doesn’t hurt your thumb during prolonged use. The turbo feature is a nice addition and helpful for certain characters. I like the fact I can use it with my entire PS3 Street Fighter library. I also have the Blanka version and haven’t had any problems with either controller after a month of use.

This is an outstanding controller. Very comfortable to hold and all buttons are in simple reach. It is already perfectly set up for use with the Street Fight IV & the default button configuration. Moves requiring quarter, half & full circle movements are incredibly simple do, thanks to the floating digital pad. And they can be done consistently. It comes a with handy Turbo button which makes characters like Chun-Li & E. Honda especially perilous.
My only conundrum with the controller & its floating digital pad is that it may be too sensitive sometimes. For characters that require charge attacks or precise up and down movements of the digital pad for combos, the Dualshock 3/Six-axis controller is in fact simpler to use & more regular.
If you have PS3 then you already have the standard controller & I highly suggest you try out the Fight Pads to get the most out of this game. It will probably come in handy for other fighting sports meeting as well. I fully be going to to use this pad on Tekken.
