This game pool of Sonic is not that fun. It’s full of ancient sports meeting with very poor graphics and sound. I bought this game for my kids and they don’t delight in it very much (they nearly never play with it). If you really like Sonic, then there are other sports meeting better than this. Don’t lose cash and time with this game.

I selected this one up from a local retailer for no other reason than Sonic CD. (let’s be honest now, is there any other reason?) Of course the game is splendid fun to play but do not be fooled, it is not the original that I know. The music in this is different. The Sonic CD that I know and like has crazy electronic music by a Japanese band (reflect they might have been called Miki…could be incorrect…) but this has some generic crap being played over the back ground…1 or 2 of the “PAST” levels has original music but the rest is not….I am taking mine back for refund under the the complaint of fake advertising.
Call it pedantic if you like, but when I fork out cash like that I expect it to be the genuine article.

Believe it or not I don’t really own a Game Cube. The only way I was able to rate this game is because I’ve played most of the titles on the disk in the past so I remember them. I own a PlayStation 2 and a copy of Sonic Mega Pool Plus. It’s a cool pool of Sonic’s best moments but Sonic CD, quite possibly his best moment of all, was conspicuously absent. Now finally they make a pool disk with Sonic CD and It’s only for Game Cube!! Pardon my french but WHAT THE HELL?!!! I’ve never been so Ps’d at these guys before. News flash, GC owners are not the only ones that want Sonic CD you know. What about the rest of us?! What about PS2 and Xbox?!! They’re holding out on us aren’t they? I thought they were trying to be honest and release these titles to a wider consultation. Well PS2 and Xbox are a wider consultation. So let’s go, make with the equal oppertunity already. In the words of Sonic himself, “I’m waitiiing!”. (Update 10/08/06) I want to take back what I said above. I just bought a used Game Cube today for a pretty reasonable price and got Sonic Gems to start out with, so now I’ve had a proper chance to play it. That being I would change my rating to at least a three and a half…that is if I could, but apparently I’m not allowed. Anyway I already like Sonic CD which is even better now with the complete, uncut and quicker moving animation at the beginning and better picture and sound quality. The only thing I have against it is it’s unusually long load time. The original version on Sega CD loaded somewhat quicker. Sonic The Fighters is pretty excellent too but Sonic R was a complete waist of time because it’s probably one of the worst Sonic sports meeting ever (if there is such a thing). The Game Gear titles on the other hand are a nice touch and I have finally had a chance to play Tails’ Adventures (it’s Japan only predesessor Tails Sky Patrol isn’t as excellent). I would also like to appologize for the terrible language that was used above. Game Cube is aimed at a younger consultation so there are probably alot of moms out there who are pretty mad at me right now. All together Sonic Gems is pretty excellent and worth the new low price to get your mitts on Sonic CD. Talk about a “blast from the past”. Heh heh, get it?

My brother is a HUGE Sonic fan. All he ever talks about is Sonic. That’s why our dad gave him Sonic Mega Pool for Cmhristmas. P.S. Why does he like Sonic so much?
