Slave Zero
- Variety of interactive features; huge mission-based levels; powerful and unique bosses; detailed robot designs and clear graphics
Editorial Review
In Slave Zero, players control a gigantic mechanized man who trounces owing to hyperurban landscapes, destroying everything in sight. Notches on Mr. Zero’s belt include motorists, helicopters, tanks, pedestrians, and an assortment of robots his own size.
Slave Zero does a splendid job of communicating the difference in scale between the main character and the comparatively tiny people, vehicles, and buildings that populate the city. But, the controls are very complicated, utilizing every button on the Dreamcast controller (including the stick and D-pad separately), as well as combinations of buttons for additional control, such as picking up and hurling cars. Screams and exclamations from innocent bystanders seem unusually loud, and the complete absence of in-game music exacerbates the already slow pace of the game. Still, some scenes are stellar, and worth wading owing to the mediocre spots in between. –Jeff Young
Pros:
- Sci-fi noir-stylishness graphics
- Highly interactive environments
- Exciting main character
Cons:
- Slow pace
- Choppy animation
- Hard control scheme

The graphics are okay, but not splendid, not anything that you should do a backflip over atleast. slow animation sends this game into a world of bordom, and, even after dissapoint every one with the graphics and the slow game play, and the horrable control, you notice that the game isn’t even fun! how horrable is that, leave this game on the shelf, and pick up potential stone, it is much better.

One of the many things that I don’t like about the game is that you don’t get to choose from any different characters. Then there is the conundrum that you only get one life, and if you die you have to do again the game all over again. By and large, Sega should be paying me to play this game and not the other way around!

And I stomped on all the small people and then I selected them up and threw them against the wall and then I blew up the other wobots wiv my gun and then i blasted more baddies wiv my missiles and then …..
Makes you feel like you are 40 storeys high and has plenty of variety in the missions.

Slave Zero is a pretty cool game. I thought the graphics were splendid and the tale was honestly original. I admit that the multiplayer part of the game is kind of weak. You can’t see anything, but it is still really fun. Slave Zero is a splendid game, don’t belive those other reviews.

All-in-all, a cool game. My largest conundrum was the complete lack of MUSIC! There was not anything to set any kind of mood, a decent techno soundtrack would have added a lot in my opinion.
