This was bought as a gift. Please stop asking me to review this item. If it’s anything like other Sid Meier’s sports meeting, it’s splendid.

I just ordered this game before it came out. From what I have heard from the reviews so far, is that it’s a splendid game. I always wanted the Civilization IV series to explore colonization. Couldn’t really do it in the original Civilization IV series.

The best game of the Civilization saga. Deep and full of gameplay variants off and on-line, this is a title that takes classic game and updates it in a very fresh way for 2008, without screwing around with the things that made it splendid in the first place.

I CAN’T BELIEVE THAT i DID SUCH A STUPID THING —- i BOUGHT THIS GAME, WITHOUT LOOKING AND GOING OVER THE REVIEWS. iT WOULD HAVE SAVED ME A LOT OF GRIEF. LUCKLILY IT DIDN’T BREAK THE BANK.AS THEY TELL YOU,”ONCE YOU GET TO LOOK PAST THE COVER AND GET INTO THE MEAT OF IT ALL, YOU FIND OUT THAT THEY PAID BIG BUCKS FOR A COVER AND GAVE MINOR ATTENTION TO THE GAME. TO BAD THAT I COULDN’T GIVE IT A 1/4 OR LESS OF A STAR, BECAUSE THIS IS REALLY WHAT IT DESREVES, AS FAR AS I AM CONCERNED. YUCK !

First off, the people complaining about SecuROM are really stooping to new lows giving this splendid game one star. This does not have the limitations that the other controversial sports meeting have, and SecuROM has been around for YEARS. This is a very primitive implimentation of SecuROM that is extremely lenient. Where do people get off rating this game one star over that? Sid Meier rocks, and he’s useful minimal protections to this game.
Second, to the reviewer that says that if you play the game for fun you can’t win, incorrect incorrect incorrect. I’ve always played the game the way it’s meant to be played, and it’s a blast. Yes, declaring independence is tough, but it’s meant to be. You can easily get a very well developed network of cities together and declare your independence, I usually have 8-10 cities by the time I do. It’s called having newspapers and Elder Statesmen!
Also, in regards to indians, there are very exciting new bonuses with them like the ability to use them in diplomacy for your cause whether it be against others or just for splendid trade. Also, the first person to visit their camps gets a bonus which is a huge deal. Another thing the person failed to mention was the relics, artifacts, and ruins scattered about. Oh, and what about inter-colony warfare against the others trying to colonize the new world? Then there’s multiplayer… it’s splendid. I could go on and on.
This is another Sid Meier classic, and it’s a damn bring shame on that people here want to be petty about SecuROM just because of the way it was implimented in other sports meeting. Some people need to grow up, this is a 4-5 star game all around, I promise.
