This could be the worst baseball game I have ever played I couldn’t even get owing to the first game. It is that terrible. Do yourself a favor and don’t get this game. Get All Star Baseball 2004 instead. You will thank me for it.

Ok,I’ll tell you why this is a terrible baseball game. First, the graphics are not to splendid. Nearly all of the players look the same and don’t even look like the players in real life. The stadiums are not splendid either. I only rented this game once and I got tired of playing this game after two days. I don’t know why people like Sega Sports sports meeting because they are not excellent at all. A excellent thing about this game that I liked were the rosters, because they are the most updated. Also there are not a lot of features in this game as in other baseball sports meeting. This game is not worth [cash]. Before buying it I would rent this game. I reflect the best baseball game would be AllStar Baseball 2004. If you are a real baseball fan, get this game. I already have this game and it is the best baseball game I ever played. The graphics are splendid, the gameplay is splendid, and there are so many more features than any baseball game! Don’t hesitate to buy this game and if you don’t buy it, you will regret it.

This game was a major dissapointment. I’m a huge franchise fan and spend at least as much time dealing with that aspect as in fact playing the on-field game. The franchise in WSB 2K3 is a huge dissapointment. They’ve added a coaches aspect in which you need to hire a manager, pitching & hitting coaches and a scout. All the people are fictitious and it’s really more of a nuisance than anything.
Gameplay itself is a nightmare. It is produced in a way that makes it look a small more like a TV broadcast than other sports meeting, but the positives end there. The players go very stiffly, the graphics are shoddy and the pitching interface is less than intuitive.
Don’t dissipate your time – All Star Baseball 2004 is a far superior game.

After reading as many reviews as possible in attempting to choose b/t WSB and MVP, I finally made the choice and went with WSB. I had seen and played the XBox version, and was assuming that the PS2 version would play the same way. I was incorrect – the PS2 version is marred by jittery frame tariff which give the feeling of something being played on a slow PC. It detracted from the depth of the game for me instantly. And it is deep, no argument. The stat keeping and franchise modes are plusses. Nontheless, I returned the game and bought MVP. While MVP is not exact (difficulty striking out the CPU, even with excellent pitchers and “excellent pitches”; an abnormal level of line-outs; infielders go quicker than should be able to; baserunners down the first base line are rather slow, the result of which is very few infield hits), it is much more enjoyable to play. EA has cured the “arcade” stylishness of play (i.e. too many HRs) that hurt the Triple Play series and has done an brilliant job taking video baseball genre to a new level with its pitching meter. Bottom line – do yourself a favor and buy MVP if you have a PS2, and rent both if you have an XBox.

This game is byfar the best baseball game this year. The A.I is awesome…just like this game..its a must have for those of you who likes to play in the franchise mode..
