This keyboard looked nifty when I saw it at a local Fry’s, but looking sexy and effective well are worlds apart. To start, the Caps Lock key wouldn’t work, and the key feel was cheap. The lighted keyboard added not anything to the show, as I have a desk lamp anyway. It is lightweight, moves around when you try to type, and is just junk. I was going to send it back to Amazon, but tomorrow is trash day and you know where this baby is going. . .

Full disclosure: I have not used the Eclipse II. But I DID buy it’s immediate predecessor, the Eclipse, 1.5 years ago, from Amazon. And I had to replace it because the “spacebar” key went south about a month ago. I had to hit the spacebar exactly in the center in order for it to work…tapping the right side with my thumb (I’m right-handed) just made that side dip down, with no effect on the screen. The bar just pivoted like a see-saw from the middle.
So I went to a local huge-box electronic store, with the full intent to “upgrade” to the Eclipse II. But, the store sample they had there had the EXACT SAME ISSUE – - the spacebar would only dip to the side if you tapped it with your thumb. So….I came back to Amazon and bought the Logitech G15….and so far I highly recommend it.

The only thing this KB has going for it is, it lights up.
Even that is not splendid, the lighting is uneven and not nearly as bright as I would like it.
This KB made for the gaming community, where Mountain Dew, Stout Tire Ale, Captain Morgan Confidential Stock Rum, Cheeto’s, Pizza, and any other ungodly type of vice you can presume are only inches away….
DO NOT SPILL ANYTHING on this p.o.s. it is NOT made for a gamers environment, and if your careful and manage not to spill on it, FORGET ABOUT L.A.N. Parties, you can not guarantee safety in that social environment.
My opinion, its an overpriced beer magnet, that can not withstand the environmental conditions for which it was marketed.
Get something else.

When looking for a new keyboard I particularly requested “cordless” .. and this was one of them. The reviews were mainly clear and nowhere did I state that this is a corded keyboard. I also searched via Google for other reviews particularly using “Cordless Saitek keyboards”.. and this kept coming up with the Amazon listing. I am disappointed in that part of it.. and will test it for a day or two before deciding whether to return it.
