Blizzard became known for their later franchises such as Diablo, Warcraft, and Starcraft. Before then, Blizzard made a handful of console sports meeting. I used to rent this game all the time for my SNES as a kid. When I bought my Nintendo DS a couple years ago, I knew I had to get this game.
The racing/combat genre isn’t around much anymore, but when it was, this game was king. The Rockin soundtrack still holds up as well as the gameplay.
This cult classic is on par with Blizzard’s modern classics. I highly recommend this to anyone with a Gameboy Advance or Nintendo DS.

A new port of an ancient Super Nintendo classic, Rock ‘N Roll Racing is a must own for GBA owners who remember the classic game. The premise of the game is unadorned: as you win races in release player mode, you’ll earn cash to upgrade your car while doing battle against other racers. This port is every bit as fun as the original game; graphics and gameplay remain intact for the most part. The only conundrum with the game is it’s steep learning curve, but that’s only a minor complaint. And, just like in the original, the right fun of Rock ‘N Roll Racing is to be had with two-player mode. But, I can’t help but marvel why Blizzard didn’t include a four player mode via link cable that would have been even more fun, but oh well. All in all, with the ever growing long list of Super NES ports on the GBA, Rock ‘N Roll Racing is at the near top of the pack.

I remember way back in the ancient days when my friends and I would play this game all day long and fighting over who gets to be Olaf. Wow! Excellent times… If you loved the original then you will like this! Out of all of the sports meeting out there that they have remade and added to you’d reflect that they would have evolved this game in some way, or at least added a Part 2 to it. Anyways, it is a splendid game!
