Best Playstation Game By and large!Editorial Review
Zombies, an ancient mansion, and limited ammo. What more could you want? Resident Evil: Director’s Cut plunges you into the world of B-grade android flicks, and does a first-class job of it. From the unpleasant dialogue and voice acting to the perplexing camera angles, you’ll jump and squirm owing to a series of mind-numbing puzzles and heart-pounding attacks. The trick is: conserve your ammo, and learn to run.
The game is interspersed with movie-stylishness cut scenes that all too often annoy rather than elucidate. The gist of the tale is this: you and your special forces teammates have come to investigate the disappearance of the last team, and you have no thought what you’re getting into. You spend the rest of the game trying to find your way out of the mansion in which you’re trapped. The bottom line: If you like android flicks, buy it, play it, like it. And the best part–try blowing the android dogs’ heads off with the bazooka. –John Cocking
Pros:
- Scary sound, camera angles, horror-movie action
- Sense of dread, dropping ammo count
- Zombies
Cons:
- Horrible dialogue
- Back-tracking for puzzles
- The bazooka won’t blow open a door
Buy Cheap Resident Evil: Director’s Cut

This game was dull. It does not even compare to part 2. If I were to compare it to part 3, I might as well compare a Playstation game to a Atari game.

WHEN I FIRST GOT MY PLAYSTATION , THIS WAS THE FIRST GAME I GOT . IT IS AND WILL ALWAYS BE A COOL GAME TO PLAY. BESIDES THE CHEESY VOICE ACTING , OR SO SO GRAPHICS – IT IS STILL A GEM OF A CLASSIC ! WHY ELSE WOULD CAPCOM REDO THE FIRST ONE FOR GAMECUBE ? AS WELL AS DO 2 MORE GAMES FOR GAMECUBE , AND DO A MOVIE ON IT ? BECAUSE IT IS- AND ALWAYS WILL BE THE COOLEST ZOMBIE GAME EVER !…AND NOT ONE YOU COULD EASILY CHEAT ON EITHER , UNLESS YOU GOT A GAMESHARK … BECAUSE USING THE GUIDE IS NOT CHEATING ! YOU STILL HAVE TO BEAT THE GAME AND POSSESS SOME SKILL AND PATIENCE TO PLAY IT .” RESIDENT EVIL 2 ” WAS GREAT ! AND NEMESIS EVEN BETTER ! AND LET’S NOT FORGET ” CODE VERONICA ” EITHER !!HOPEFULLY A FEW NEW ONES WILL BE PUT OUT FOR PS2 OWNERS AS WELL .WHY SHOULD GAMECUBE OWNERS GET ALL THE FUN ! SO I HOPE YOU GO OUT AND GET IT . THIS IS ONE GAME YOU CAN LITERALLY PLAY TO DEATH !… IF YOU GET A GAMECUBE THAN GET THE NEW AND IMPROVED ” RESIDENT EVIL ” !!AND ALL THE OTHER ONES OUT NOW OR SOON TO BE OUT .. ANYONE CARE FOR A GAME OF KILLING ZOMBIES TONITE ?

Today I posted a review for Silent Hill for the Sony Playstation in the interest of fairness I figured I’d post a review about Resident Evil. Like Silent Hill I played and beat the game within a week of it’s early launch. I didn’t have alot of gripes about the game being as I was blown away by the very thought of a survival horror game. Let alone playing such a game for the first time in my long gaming history.
The music and graphics for this game are by no means excellent to todays standards. Back in the day as with Silent Hill they were top notch or very near it. As far as puzzles go, Resident Evil had both passable and challenging puzzles… not anything that took away from your gameplay or experience which was a nice touch.
As far as gameplay this Resident Evil game, Director’s Cut, was my favorite up until Resident Evil 2 and more recent Resident Evil 4. As I said with Silent Hill neither game is better than the other but I would strongly recommend skipping this game for this system and get the Resident Evil Remake for Gamecube.
The remake enhanced not just the graphics but the over all tale and appeal of Resident Evil, the original classic survival horror game. In closing I have to say that I graded this a 3 as I did with Silent Hill, they are two different kinds of scares and two different worlds but the graphics and dated sound leave me empty. All-in-all a must buy for any Resident Evil fanboy or person looking for a quick cheap thrill.
