If you’re not more than the average male height, then you’ll find the earpiece cups press down on the top of your ears. My wife is 5′4″, and she couldn’t wear them at all. I’m 5″ taller than her, but still found the pressure of the cups pushing my ears down and away from my head to be very uncomfortable.
The sound reproduction isn’t very excellent, especially the bass response. Most things I tried listening to sounded tinny or shrill. The people here raving about the sound probably never tried real mid end gaming headset, which are priced around the same, or less than, these. For example: Ear Force X-52 5.1 Headset
In these days of multi-lecturer 5.1 – 7.1 dolby surround sound gaming headset, these are very primitive.

I selected up this headset earlier this year to use with Ventrilo while playing MMO’s. I usually use voice-activation because I despise having to bind a key to toggle the mic on and off.
Pros:
-The headset is honestly comfortable; the pads rest around your ears and not on them and the headset is light. But I have a large noggin and the headset feels like it’s squeezing my head after an hour or so of wear, though not as much as other headsets I’ve worn.
-The sound quality is decent but not much better than what I’ve had in the past from cheaper sets. Certainly not a high-end headphone.
Cons:
-The mic is too far away from my mouth and simply would not pick up my voice while using voice-activation on Ventrilo unless I shouted. There is no way to adjust it to get closer. So the workaround was to wear them around my neck, adjust the mic boom up, and turn my speakers on. But even then I had to place the mic just right to get the voice-activation to work. It would either be directly in front of my mouth and pick up my breathing or at the corner and then my voice would cut in and out.
If the mic was better than this would be a decent product and I would still be using them but I’ll probably end up buying a higher-priced headset like sennheiser pc350.

I selected this up the other day and tried them out. I really liked the build quality, comfort and sound. On all accounts I really loved this buy, but the dealbreaker was that I couldn’t get any sound into my MacBook pro. I tried two summer 07 17inch MBPs and a groundbreaking new unibody Macbook Pro. I tried it running Snow Leopard (OSX 10.6) and Windows 7 Ultimate I had no mic levels on either, but splendid sound in the headset in both OSes. On OShenie opened the sound section in system prefs. When I plugged in the mic I saw levels jump on line in indicator, but no voice levels. Other mica have worked in the jack, the mute was NOT engaged. In fact, web I took the headset back to the store I brought my laptop and tried a second pair there in the store and they also failed to get and mic indicate into the computer. Today I bought some Plantronic 777s and they work just fine using the same jacks. These are splendid gaming headsets, but beware if you have a MacBook Pro, I doubt they will work.
I feel I need to give this product 2 stars even though it’s a excellent product. It’s just the fact that it fails with my hardware for no aparent reason where other headsets have no conundrum whatsoever.

I bought these headset about a month and a half ago, they were comfortable and the sound was very clear, yesterday but the microphone bunged effective and all I could hear is white noise whenever I talk using vent, no sound is coming out and windows isn’t even recognizing mic is plugged in. I read on-line that a few people had the same conundrum, so you may end up like me, with defective pair. I am very disapointed, I had plantronics headset before for about 2 years and had no problems

Pros: They are very comfortable and use the same splendid ear padding material found on the other razer headsets. The chord is braided. The mic is excellent quality and I was told I sound clearer over voice chat. The in line mic mute with alligator clip is well-located.
Cons: They are stereo headset not surround sound. They are not very effective for positional audio in sports meeting. The mic is not detachable, it only flips up (huge con). A lot of sound escapes and they do not block out outside sound very well. The inline volume control has a scroll wheel for volume which can sometimes rub against my leg or shirt (when clipped to pants pocket) and become excessively loud or silent. No blue leds!
By and large I would not recommend these for honest gaming or music. For gaming I would recommend a surround sound headset like the zalman 5.1 surround or razer barracudas which are also 5.1. For music you can get stereo headset of much better quality in the same price range such as the grado sr-60i or some sennheisers. The carcharias really don’t do anything especially well so they are rather low on the regard scale. The only advantage they have over any cheap stereo pc headset with a mic would be that they are comfortable for long hours of wear.
EDIT: It has been about 1-2 months since buy and the mic on these has bunged effective unexpectedly. I’ve tested them on several different systems and am clear it is a conundrum with the headset itself not any software conflicts. I have my RMA and am sending them back under warranty now. I will edit review with results.
EDIT#2: After going owing to the RMA process I paid about $6 to ship them back to razer in NY. They paid for the shipping back. When I opened the box I was surprised to see a groundbreaking new headset factory sealed rather than my repaired headset or a refurbished/recertified product. Needless to say I was very pleased. My faith in razer customer service has been restored. Watch out for tech harvest with Made in China stamped on the box (all razer audio). Defects and flaws in manufacturing are pretty common. My guess is these headsets must use pretty cheap wiring.
