Ratchet and Clank is a fantastic new adventure starring the weirdest heroes you’ve ever seen, in the weirdest solar system ever!Amazon.com Review
Forget about Super Mario Sunshine–this is the real megastar platform action game of the season. Featuring a pair of wacky robots in a quest to save the universe, Ratchet and Clank may offer the same ancient basic platform scenario–run around, elude or ruin enemies, jump, and negotiate treacherously dynamic environments–but it has a number of things going for it that place it among the best titles ever in this genre.
The feature that will strike you first is the terrific art management. Set in a science fiction future, the game has a perfectly executed retro cartoon look (reflect ancient Warner Bros.). The attention lavished on every detail, from architecture to character design, makes for a world that feels complete and real. This extends to the cutscenes, which feature a variety of colorful characters given plain life with brilliant voice acting. Then there is the sheer size and level of interactivity of the environments. For me, a particularly stunning moment was when my character was knocked off a skyscraper, but instead of perishing, landed on a ledge and was able to seamlessly navigate to a whole separate section of the game. Another moment of truth came when I aimed my blaster at one of the vehicles whizzing by in the sky. These vehicles were just pretty wallpaper, I thought, but no, the thing blew up. In fact, nearly everything you see is destructible or open in some way: you can jump up trees, scuttle over walkways, smash boxes, and climb up ledges. And the control scheme is just complex enough to keep things fascinating with multiple weapons and the like, without being bogged down by too many features.
While the routine of finding and destroying enemy robots may get tedious after a while, Ratchet and Clank keeps things fascinating with the many metamorphoses of Clank (who takes on forms that bolt from the blue even himself), cool weapons like the Glove of Doom (which unleashes armies of tiny Clanks), and shifting first-robot, third-robot points of view.
If this game doesn’t become the bestselling platform action game of the year, it will prove that nostalgia for ancient characters, marketing hype, and brand loyalty really are more vital than quality. –David Stoesz

this game isnt really that excellent. its fun but there lots to be desired. like first of all cant you people reflect of anything besides weapons. oh yeah weapons weapons they make a game dont they. please you closeminded fools cant see anything but weapons. but thats what this uncreative pile of garbage is all about unfortunately. intelligint gamers will now read on. basically youre in this space world and you just pretty much kill everything you see. this game is just a stupid uncreative trashy pile of crud designed for people too dumb to know anything. here are the cons and pros of the game. cons irritating characthers linear gameplay pure uninteligince no creativity or classic platform elements. pros nice cartoony bright graphics brilliant flow of well place together music. so bottom line is rent this if youre an intelligant person who want creativity in a game rather than walking with a gun preparing to shoot the life out of everything like a fool.

Yes, I’m sure the developers are trying to make the game (In quotes) more “Mature” by giving it a Teen rating and uping the adult make pleased, possibly dirty humour? Or it could just be the violence, but this looked like a promising Platformer for our younger gamers, to delight in but looks like that can’t happen. Anyways, the game looks splendid, looks like Jak and Daxter in space with a wonferful amount of weapons (And somewhat bondish?) gadgets. Grapics look very excellent and fluid for somehting like the PS2 (Even though Xbox would be better.) Looks promising.

this game is cooloroonie. It is like…. AWESOMEEEE! It’s like… um…. better than eating beans for the first time and farting out hotdogs and paper plates.
But it may not be as excellent if the hotdogs are Ball Park Franks.

This game is honestly well done, but lacks that special artistic touch seen in “Jack and Daxter” or “Sly Cooper”. I recommend getting those titles first.
