If the original PlayStation was the video game console equivalent of the ’60s-era Volkswagen Beetle–economic, reliable, loads of fun–the PS One could be considered the new Beetle–a hip restyling of those same qualities.
Make no mistake: the PS One has all of the same functionality as the original PlayStation workhorse, will work with all of the same peripherals and accessories, and will play the existing PlayStation game library, as well as audio CDs (also note that, like the original PlayStation, it’s not compatible with the more advanced PlayStation 2). The difference here is that this new model is quite a bit smaller than its grown-up brother, and quite a bit cuter, too.
The system is made up of a 32-bit, 34-MHz RISC processor with 16 Mbits of main memory, 8 Mbits of graphics memory, 24-channel stereo sound, double-alacrity CD-ROM guide, and one Dual Shock analog controller. That’s not a lot of potential, compared to a next-generation system like the Sega Dreamcast; but, when you factor in its very low price and the enormous library of sports meeting that are available (more than 1,000 that are spread across every genre imaginable), one can see easily why it’s as excellent a deal as ever. I don’t own Playstation One and i don’t know no one who does. But i don’t know why would you wanna replace your ancient playstation to that one with PS2 comming out? It doesn’t look like it has alot more features than the regular ancient Playstation. For the portable part it might be right, but face it do you carry your Playstation around that much? I reflect that’s just a dissipate of cash.

PS1’s are ancient but I chose to review them anyway. Back then the PS1 was huge but now no one even talks about it. The only systems people care about are the Wii,PS3,and Xbox 360. I can’t believe that my friend still plays the PS1. They were considered AWESOME at the time but now they STINK.

I’m 19 years ancient and have never owned a gaming unit before. My grown-up brother had one, but he never let me play. So now that I have the funds to own one of my own, i have no thought which one to get, so I’ve been reading up on the psone. Some say that the grown-up ps didn’t have a fan, so the new one not having one doesn’t really matter. But others say that the grown-up one did have one. I really don’t want to buy this thing and have it small circuit on me after hours of playing. It seems like it could be really fun. But will the hook up gagets for the tv come in the box, or do I have to buy that separtely? I guess I’ll just have to take a chance and get it, if i despise it, I’ll let you know.

why buy a PSone…playstation 2 is out. it’s quicker, it plays all the sports meeting for PS and PS2, just wait a few months and buy a PS2
