I want to play RB/RB2 with this bass, but it arrived dead out of the box. The wireless USB receiver doesn’t work, and the Madcatz bass doesn’t seem to be able to sync with OEM Rock Band receivers. I would reflect they would test these things before boxing them up and shipping them.

The bass works splendid when it works. It loses connection at 5 feet. I sent it back its taking them two weeks to look at it. If they can not fix it will take longer. This was terrible out of the box and now I have to pay and wait for Mad Catz, they suck.

It can’t hold a connection to the PS3, so it’s basically unplayable. It’s too terrible, it was a dissipate. It is not effective any more.

I had the same experience with this product as most other reviewers. It can’t hold a connection to the PS3, so it’s basically unplayable. It’s too terrible, because I loved the feel of it, and especially the split strum bar.
I contacted the company to see if they have any plans to upgrade it in the future, and got no response. I just don’t get how they can keep putting out a product that, in most cases, doesn’t work.

I was excited to see that this bass is available for the PS3 so I went ahead and ordered it sent Next Day for an extra $3.99 (Amazon Prime). After assembling I started to play it using Rock Band 2. Immediately, I found the strum bars to be way too tight and this result in missing clarification. I had to press hard and not strum on the strum bars to have any effect. Then in the middle of use, the guitar decides to no longer be connected to the PS3 and completely fails.
I repeated this scenario four times meeting at vaarying distances from 5 to 15 feet, no difference. The bass periodically disconnects. This tariff the product IMHO a FAILURE.
Amazon was splendid at returning. Sent it out with their shipping categorize and they got it two days later. Within 12 hours they issued a refund for the product. Cannot have better service than that!
