How is it legal for a company to sell a game for a system when they KNOW it will not work? I have no thought but it seems as if Activision’s only interest was bringing in cash rather than making a quality product.
On Christmas day I received this as a gift, I was very excited and had been talking about the game for months. To my bolt from the blue I would never get to play it because as soon as the disc went in, the console could not read it. We tried countless times and even though the console was reading our other sports meeting, after a while it wouldn’t read anything. I contacted sony and was told it would have to be replaced. I will be contacting this company asap to tell them to take responsibility for this disaster. DO NOT BUY THIS GAME unless you have a new age system. I know plenty of people who have had fun playing this game on the wii and ps3. I have returned the game and will be getting rockband instead but it is unfair that I have to find another ps2 just to play my other sports meeting. Guitar Hero World Tour ruined my Christmas.

The guitar for this set worked just fine but when I place in the game, it could not read the disk. I researched this and it looks like this has happened to other people. Thats probably why it was only 20.00.

Guitar Hero is a fantastic game for all ages and lots of fun to play. But, when I questioned Gamestop personnel as well as read the information on this game the person I talked to said that it would work on an original Playstation 2. Not right. Not anything on the description to the game nor on the box itself said that it was only meant for the newer Playstation 2 slimlines and above. Which of course misinforms the customers trying to buy it for a gamer. Especially when they know not anything about game systems themselves. Now I’m having to place forth cash to buy a newer playstation 2 slimline.

Splendid Thought mixing guitar riffs, using a guitar controller (it is NOT like playing a REAL guitar), and video gaming. Although you are not playing a real guitar, this game gives you a sense of being a part of the band. I like playing video sports meeting, and have played guitar all my life, and this is a exact mix, but again, you have to realize it is NOT playing a real guitar. Accurately, the game seems harder than playing a real guitar. Yes, thats right! This concept is harder that playing a real guitar. So, when I look at a real guitar player verses a Guitar Hero player, I know who really effective for the crowd. That is the video gamer. Not a dig on guitarists, but brilliant guitarist really are a dime a dozen. Find someone who can go expert level song on any GH release. There’s some talent. This game is akin to Mad Maestro, American Idol, etc. in many ways. Everything but the controller aspect, which I like in GH. You can, and eventually will be able to master the songs as you play them. I get nervous before attempting an expert level performance. When I go with a real guitar – it really is not anything. So, real guitarists that are gloating, stop it, you really do stink… Hook up any GH version, and see what I mean.

1 star is too much for this product! I also wish I had read the reviews first. We tried to run this game and got no response from the PS2 after seeing the Sys Config screen and then the Playstation 2 logo. Other sports meeting received for Christmas work just fine. This is a major disappointment for a 9-year ancient boy on Christmas day after the excitement of setting the whole thing up, only to find that it did not work. After all I’ve read on-line, it is obvious that this is a known conundrum to the manufacturer, which irritates me to no end! I don’t know how excited I am to try new software again and again, wasting that time when it looks like a foregone conclusion that it will not work. I reflect we will return the whole thing and go with Rockband instead!
