Gameplay in Pokémon Puzzle League is a variation on the puzzle classic Tetris: players must clear blocks off the screen by switching adjacent horizontal blocks to make horizontal and vertical shape of three or more identically colored blocks. Blocks rise in rows from the bottom of the screen, and, once they reach the top, the game is over. While it’s deceptively simple at first, the steadily increasing alacrity of the rising blocks requires players to make combos (more than three blocks in a line) and chains (making multiple shape simultaneously), both of which pause the rise of the blocks temporarily.
Featuring six gaming modes and puzzles in both 2-D and 3-D, Pokémon Puzzle League is best played by one player versus the computer (in the Stadium) or in two-player “versus” mode. In these modes, making combos and chains causes “garbage” blocks to fall from the top of your opponent’s screen, which results in some villainously vindictive gameplay.–Joe Hon

I’m 24 and I loved this game. I don’t tend to like shooting or racing sports meeting; I like the ones with tales, characters, scenery, approach. Yes, this game is simple, but it really is fun. You guide in a cart (you don’t get to control the cart, though; it’s like a ride at an amusement park: it just goes) owing to various environments (beach, river, valley, volcano, etc.) trying to get pictures of different Pokemon. Some are out in the open and simple to shoot, some won’t appear without lots of experimentation and/or observation and strategizing. The goal is to get the best shot you can of each different Pokemon. When you get to the end of a level, you pick which pictures you want to show to the Professor for whom you’re effective. He tariff them on different qualities and stores them for his report. You can go back to each level as often as you like trying to get the best pictures. A unadorned game with fun graphics.

I bought this game for my daughter and found myself having more fun then her. The Pokemon are there for a visual and have no real impact on game play. Simple to pick up and play, diffucult to master. Addictive to anyone who likes a “Tetris” type of game.

I bought the game for my 4 children… ages 5 owing to 11… boy were we all shocked when we in fact played it! It was not much fun for the kids at all!! it is basically one game, Tetris presented a few different ways with different characters decorating the screen… My kids played about an hour and have not touched it since, what a dissipate. My husband and I played for a bit longer but we too soon lost interest! Don’t dissipate your cash, to many other sports meeting out there that are better!
