Unless you absolutely must have wireless, don’t buy anything but a Sony Dualshock. I’ve had 3 of these (various colors) and broken every release one of them, to the point now where the only controler left is composed of parts from the previous 3. It still works flawlessly, and unless you’re smashing them against concrete or iron, they can take anything you ‘toss’ em against.

All PlayStation 2 Dualshock 2 controllers are very excellent regardless of affect. I have had very excellent results in gameplay using this first-party controller. I have only had one terrible experience. While playing the game: Gitaroo Man I am required to hold the analog stick in certain angles for a cycle of time but holding the stick down in one spot for more than a couple seconds causes a conundrum. It is hard to keep your thumb on the stick because the material of the stick causes my thumb to slip which can be very irritating and cause frustrating error in the gameplay. Other than that small conundrum the Dualshock 2 is awesome!
