Oh yeah, Americans are sooooo familiar with dart sports meeting. So much to speak of this Nintendo DS darts game, and it would be simple to expect so much from an import game of this magnitude. What is the least to be expected? Well for starters, how about a hot Phil Taylor knockoff and an simple-to-know gameplay? Too much expected? How about a joke package of small quality! Neither of them are here, and so is the fun. Qualified Darts Corporation (aka PDC) does not need an introduction to my Irish companion Brian. He lives in the humble town of Dublin, and is well aware of their league. They broke off from the self-centered British Darts Organisation in the early 90’s to make new reputation, and it has paid off. The 2007 World Final resulted in over a million televised viewers, which is outstanding! So why cannot it be said the same for this sports cartridge? For starters, when gamers buy it groundbreaking new, they CANNOT play 8-Player Tournaments until they unlock three “hidden” characters from a bland career mode. Gee, not a terrible thought. And the absence of a training mode accomodates matters so very small! Digital Stylus control is intuitive quite so, and such endearment it is to shoot darts from an angle perspective. Yet… O-Sports meeting should have expected beings of novice skill to pick things up, NOT PDC’s devoted fans. Speaking of which, yes, PDC does have a faithful fan-base. And when one is a member of such a group, it is hard to ignore how UGLY each of the 16 amputated PDC pros are. Polygon-natured and blocky in general, tisk tisk. How could the ever-legendary Phil Taylor become such a horrible manifest? Despite that, each world distinction location plays the same. I like that; it helps make a sense of momentum. Music is virtually non-existent, but it is the whimsical commentary by Sid Waddell that puts me in a excellent mood. Three difficulty levels exist, and believe the fact that they all play rough. Simple to play? Not exactly, especially when trying to read the rules of each game-type under the “Party Sports meeting” link. Once again, maybe that is why a training mode should always be in order. Who wants to read text in a video game? Isn’t the point of a video game to be a “video” game? PDC fans will consider this travesty, albeit ignoring it. PDC Incorporated did not give proper investment of time and cash for their own portable game, and this package stands as proof.
