Product Description
The first PARAPPA THE RAPPER revolutionized the video game world with its emphasis on gamer creativity, music, and non-violent gameplay. Well, the adorable rapping puppy has returned to action, and this time he’s got new motivation for busting his wicked rhymes: It seems that a wicked group of super-villains known as the Noodle Group wants to transform all of the world’s hamburgers into pasta. Take on the role of title character, rapping your way owing to eight massive levels of adventure in 128-bit glory. The animation stylishness that turned so many heads in the original PARAPPA gets a slight upgrade, though the 2D characters and 3D backgrounds still combine to yield the same unique look. Rhythm-based gameplay provides dozens of unique challenges for gamers of all ages (really, this one’s for adults and kids alike), putting memory and coordination skills to the test. There are plenty of release-player thrills, though this is one splendid game to play with a friend.Amazon.com Review
Released in November 1997, the original PaRappa the Rapper was lauded for its unadorned gameplay and unique setting. One of the first rhythm sports meeting to hit the American market, it required gamers to match onscreen commands à la Simon Says. Its accessible gameplay, combined with an offbeat tale (a rapping canine trying to win the heart of a flower), songs, and characters made it a hit. Now in PaRappa the Rapper 2, Sony brings back its ancient dog to the PS2, but doesn’t bother to teach him new tricks. It’s a fun but small game that anyone can play. But, fans of the original may be disappointed that Sony hasn’t advanced the series much in the last four years (28 in dog years).
This time around PaRappa must stop the evil Noodle Syndicate that’s turning all the food in the world into noodles. The wacky tale unfolds in Rodney Greenblat’s unique visual stylishness. The playful graphics are 2-D with heavy cel shading, but aren’t much of an advancement from the original. It would have been nice if Greenblat had made a 3-D version of PaRappa. Likewise, the gameplay is virtually identical to the original. Although there is a two-player mode that adds replay regard, players can easily beat the eight levels in release-player mode in fewer than four hours. Perhaps the largest disappointment is the game’s music; although cute, the game’s tunes aren’t nearly as memorable as those in the original. Still, players new to the series will find the game charming. Fans of the original are bound to be a bit disappointed. –Raymond M. Padilla
Pros:
- Cheerful graphics stylishness
- Unadorned gameplay
- Humorous songs
Cons:
- Graphics and gameplay aren’t too different from the original PS One version
- Extremely small
- Songs aren’t as memorable as in the original

Here are MY thoughts for the 3rd. (I’m a huge PaRappa fan too!)
.For the upcoming PlayStation 3, and PSP
.About 50 levels, and 5 Bonus-Rappin’ stages
.If you get an “COOL” Status in all the levels (exepet for the last), You will play an alternate ending with Ludicris rappin’ “Pimpin’ all over the World” and unlock Ludicris as a playable charecter if you beat it.
.For 8 players
.3 modes, Tale Mode, VS. Mode, and Co-op Mode.
That’s in my head.

THis is probably the worst video game of all time!!!! The visuals are horrible and 2-D on PS2 does not look excellent! The Songs were very Odd , and the stupid songs are stuck in my head!
I origianally thought that this game was going to be a fun button mashing game, I didn’t.. I beat in in 2 hours. So unless you are around 3 to 7 years ancient…..
DO NOT PLAY THIS GAME
AND DEFINETLY DON’T BUY IT!

If anyone has any musical sense whatsoever, they will most likely be disgusted by this game. The rap lyrics are stupid enough to make small girls start feeling depressed. I am in fact a DJ and I would have to say the rap jams are disgustingly pointless. The plot of this game is absurd; YOu are a god-knows-what small furry ryhmin gerbil thing that ALWAYS has a mic in his hand, even when he’s in a room with 3 people, that is destined to make the spaghetti that surrounds him go away. If I were to see this game in one of my friend’s hands, I would steal it and flush it down the toilet. Frequency out does this game music-wise by miles; there is more freedom in that game than this one, and this game feels like a communist country compared to it. DO NOT BUY BY ALL MEANS; NOT WORTH THE MONEY.

AS THE TITLE OF THIS REVIEW SAYS,THIS
GAME IS FUN BUT HARD.
I HAVE MADE IT TO STAGE 8,
AND IT’S INPOSSIBLE TO BEAT,EVEN WITH THE GAME
SET TO ”EASY MODE”(!!!).
BESIDES THAT, IT’S A GOOD GAME
WITH SONGS YOU CAN’T GET OUT OF YOUR HEAD.
