If you’re looking for a not too bulky and comfortable guard case for your DSi, then the Play-thru case is the one to get. The case itself is made from two parts, plastic and aluminum. The outside shell, which is silver in this case, is glued to the black shell of the case, which is plastic. The case itself snaps onto the system PERFECTLY, so dust will not penetrate chairs left by silicone cases or cheap Chinese manufactured cases. I would say the case would protect from a fall from the pocket or hand, but hurt may be afflicted to the system itself if dropped from a two tale building onto concrete ground. If you have averaged sized hands or huge hands, the case adds a small amount of bulk to the DSi, making it simpler to hold(In my opinion). The DSi with the case on will still fit in your pocket.(Not girl jeans though, obviously). I recommend silver with a white DSi.
The only con I found in this case was the fact that you can’t charge the system with the case on. The silicone covering the top part of the system will push the wire downward, which may cause the wire to snap by the side of with the chip inside the DS. Not exactly a Con for me because I never play while charging my ds.
QUICK SUMMARY–
Pros: *Protects your DSi from an average fall, including scratches.
*The Aluminum outside the case is hard to scratch itself.
*Covers all of the DSi, leaving holes for the ports.
*Simple to place on/take off and perfectly wraps around the DS, not tight/loose.
* Nintendo Approved
Cons: *Cannot play while charging( at least with the lid open in the average position)

I just bought my Nintendo DSi and I’ve got to admit it’s wonderfuL! But, I wanted to have it protected ‘cuz you don’t know what might happen, especially when you have small kids at your home! But, by and large, it’s a wonderfull case. I’m really satisfied!
