The System
The Nintendo DSi is a high-powered handheld video game system in a sleek, folding design-loaded with features designed to make a unique gaming experience. Like the DS and DS Lite before it, the DSi features Nintendo’s trademark stylus-driven touchscreen technology, but determined to make portable gaming simultaneously larger and smaller in all the right places, Nintendo has also made the DSi with significantly larger screens and an even slimmer body design than its earlier cousins. Other features include the ability to snap photos with built-in cameras, edit and send them to friends, play back your music with Nintendo DSi Sound, or browse the Internet with the Nintendo DSi Browser. The DSi even includes approximately 256 MB on-penetrate memory to store pictures, music, and more. From playing sports meeting to just playing around, the Nintendo DSi does it all.
Features:
The DSi’s Two Digital Cameras
The most noticeable feature of the slim Nintendo DSi system are its two cameras – one camera is situated on the external body pointing away from the user, and the second one points at the user when the device is flipped open. As the first truly interactive digital camera in a video game system, the DSi Cameras feature 10 different interactive “lenses” that can manipulate your photos, offering an simple way to take and share your photos with family and friends. The cameras also present people with unprecedented ways to cooperate with their sports meeting, and in the process grant developers with a new tool to devise creative sports meeting and experiences. If the touch screen gave Nintendo DS a sense of feel and the microphone allowed it to hear, the two cameras give Nintendo DSi the sense of sight.
DSi Sound
Another enhanced feature is the Nintendo DSi Sound application, which serves as both an interactive voice recorder and music player that allows users to play with their music while they listen to it. Users can access different audio filters or control the pitch and alacrity of recorded voice or music files to alter voices or change the tempo of a song. The mic is located between the two screens when the device is flipped open, and there is also a stereo headphone productivity that lets users listen to music saved on an SD card, even with the screen shut.
The DSiWare
In the world of software, Nintendo DSi will be the platform for the most relevant and fun on-the-go sports meeting and applications. The Nintendo DSiWare application will populate Nintendo DSi with software that can be downloaded using Nintendo DSi Points directly to the portable system, just as WiiWare has with Nintendo’s Wii console. Developers huge and small are invited to make software that makes use of the properties and functions of the hardware. Nintendo DSiWare sports meeting and applications will be available at a range of values, starting at 200 points.
Sports meeting and Backwards Compatibility
In addition to downloadable sports meeting, Nintendo DSi is able to play sports meeting made particularly for the system and sold at retail. The system can also play most Nintendo DS sports meeting, and will have access to a library of more than 850 titles originally made for that system. As an example of the quality of sports meeting that DSi players can expect to see both from both Nintendo and third-party game developers, at the launch of the DSi Nintendo is also releasing Rhythm Heaven. A wildly well loved rhythm game in Japan, where it has sold nearly 2 million copies since its release in mid 2008, Rhythm Heaven features catchy tunes, charming characters, and a wide variety of rhythm sports meeting as it makes most use of the DSi’s functionality.
Facebook
Nintendo DSi owners have even more ways to share their experiences with friends and family. Using an Internet-connected Nintendo DSi system and the Nintendo DSi Camera application, Facebook members can take pictures with either of the system’s two cameras and upload their photos directly to their Facebook profile. While reviewing pictures they’ve stored in the Nintendo DSi Camera baby book, which includes photos taken by users and manipulated using the built-in interactive lenses, users can simply tap the Facebook icon on the system’s touch screen to instantly transmit photos to the user’s Facebook profile. The user’s system must be configured to a wireless broadband Internet connection for the transmission of photos.

The Nintendo DSi was released on April 5th, 2009. By and large this system isn’t the best thing to come out of Nintendo by far. Nintendo is a kid system, I prefer Sony or Microsoft rather then Nintendo. From my experience with the DSi I by and large don’t come close to liking it. The fact is that the picture quality isn’t the best. I mean I know its not meant for photography, but you should still be able to see what you are trying to take. Another thing is the distortion is really terrible for two reasons. One if you stretch something out far enough it is too blurry to even see. Plus if you are like me you will get bored and tired of it in 20 minutes. The sound is the same thing, though it has splendid quality you get tired of it in under 20 minutes. There is also no Game Boy slot which I don’t mind, seeing as it’s a DSi not GAMEBOYi. The thing I find the most useful is the music and the SD card slot which I reflect is pretty cool. By and large the DSi is no improvement from the DS Lite. I will say there are more options for the DSi then the DS Lite. I wouldn’t recommend this very far, but if you like Nintendo then you should get it. Though to me it’s a pretty dull and dull system. I also despise how people reflect the PSP is terrible. It has better graphics and better sports meeting then the DSi does.

i was very excited to receive my nintendo dsi in the mail, small did i know that they sent me the box and i was like wow what a cardboard box they fit it in. As i opened the cardboard box, I noticed that there wasn’t a dsi… there wasnt even a charger. So how excellent is the dsi you say? horrible i can’t even turn on the cardboard box, it doesn’t have a cool light and doesn’t have a potential button… what can i say, they didn’t really send it to me. Make sure when you get your product make sure that it wasn’t tampered with or in fact in there before you get excited about it. Very displeased and not qualified. 1 star in my books.

I wanted to buy this just now, but was unable to do so.
It seems that Amazon (and many other companies) has chose to make sure that Christmas comes early for mail thieves by preventing anyone from shipping to a PO Box – even if it is the same as a billing address on file, etc etc.
Instead, they seem to want it shipped directly to the unit I’m living in. Yeah right – we’ve already had to have the mailbox re-keyed and the mail room has been broken into three times. I don’t be going to on being the next victim.
Apparently they care more about the usurious and greedy credit card companies and their billing policies (tho they also hold responsible warranty cards. Hah, yeah right) than the actual customer. Sorry Amazon, I’m not willing to take the fall in a mail-room breakin so you can kiss VISA’s backside while they continue to do not anything meaningful to prevent identity theft (and still send junk-mail pre-approved credit card applications in the name of animals to people I know who place their pets on a list as a joke …)
You guys lost a sale. More than one, considering I might want software for it someday… I’m going to gamestop. Maybe I’ll question them if they have battletoads for the DS yet while I’m there.

My review is not on the item itself. My review is on the ordering of them item. I ordered this item on 12/30 for my son with a gift card from his uncle. If it had not been an Amazon card I would have bought it at a local store. Anyway, Online it said there were plenty available and the item would be delivered around 1/6/10. Well, today, 1/6/10 I received a response back from Amazon that the item was shipping, a few minutes later I received an email that they were having a hard time locating an item to ship. WHICH IS IT???? Amusing, the site says there are some available today, they charged my credit card for the balance due about a week ago and now says I may have to wait until Feb. to receive the item????? I will question my uncle to never get him an Amazon card again and will NEVER order from these people again.
