Neverwinter Nights’ first expansion, Shadows of Undrentide, was certainly an engrossing tale, and a splendid addition to the universe, but for how much I loved that adventure it pales in comparison to Hordes of the Underdark. Sure, this expansion looks slightly better than the last, and manages to add in an assortment of new goodies for level-up junkies like myself, but what really makes this game for me is that it revolves around the Drow and all the dark creatures of the D&D universe. You just can’t help but like Mind Flayers and those evil elf beeatches. If you managed to miss out on Shadows, you should do yourself a favor and make sure you check out Hordes, as it represents some of the best storytelling going on in the PC world. Even if you don’t care about the plot, you can always just make some crazy powerful characters and tear it up.

But, about halfway owing to the game, the NWMain.exe file starts
corrupting and the game freezes and you can NOT go any further in the game. Check out Bioware’s technical support website about this game … thousands of player complaints. Bioware/Atari are aware of these bugs and are doing NOTHING about fixing them. Buy this game only if you want to be VERY disappointed halfwat owing to the game!

If you’re going to play this in the release player game then you have not anything to agonize about. It’s really fun if you like playing by yourself.
If you were plotting on playing online with your friends and taking the Red Dragon Disciple (a new class that allows the player to become 1/2 dragon and grow a set of wings) then be ready for some heartache. Once you’ve downloaded the most recent patch, version 1.61, and spent your time (how much is *your* time worth?) building your character up to wing status you’ll learn that you can’t login because this class is broken! Keep that in mind, before buying this expansion pack for small Jonnie or Janie (or yourself
) if you play online and wanted to “wow” everyone with your wings.

The game is not effective on my pc. It keeps restarting my pc. My cousin is having the same conundrum. We have the same pc and it isn’t effective…
But, I have seen the game and it looks quite fun to play. I only wish I could play it on my pc…

By and large, NWN and the expansions are the best D&D roleplay game ever. Cycle.

Most brilliant…but pretty much always crashes. That, of course, is no conundrum for me because it is not anything for me to see the conundrum and fix it. I must say, for the average gamer it might be tough to fix. You need to update drivers, uninstall, delete adware/spyware, delete in registry, and reinstall to be sure that you get it effective. Once it works, it is a fun game to play.
