Neutopia II was the equivalent of Nintendo’s Legend of Zelda series. The gameplay is very similar, and while Neutopia II doesn’t add a whole lot to the Zelda formula, it does manage to do an brilliant job of emulating it, which certainly isn’t a terrible thing.
That being said, unless you’re really intent on acquiring a physical copy of this game, there are other ways you can take it for far less cash.
Many of you might chime in and recommend emulation, but since I don’t have any experience with emulation and don’t know the legal supplies of the emulation process, I hesitate to suggest it.
But, there is a legitimate way to buy this game for far less cash by purchasing it off of the Nintendo Wii’s Virtual Console. The Virtual Console has many classic sports meeting across a variety of systems. Many of the these sports meeting are FAR cheaper than their cartridge counterparts, and some of them are not. Neutopia II currently retails for 600 Wii points or $6.00 on the Virtual Console.
What you will need:
1. You will need a Wii, and while the console will set you back $250, the Wii will essentially pay for itself because it offers MANY rare titles in addition to New Adventure Island.
2. You will need internet access. The Wii is Wi-Fi compatible right out of the box, but if you don’t have a wireless router, you can buy a honestly inexpensive device that will allow you to connect an ethernet cord to the Wii. If you have to buy such a device, you may also need to buy an ethernet cord or at least a longer one than what you have.
3. You will need an SD card to download your sports meeting onto. It is possible to download your sports meeting onto the Wii’s hardware, but hardware space is severely limited, so I would certainly recommend purchasing a card or two. They are honestly inexpensive on amazon, and a variety of SD cards are compatible with the Wii, not just the Wii brand SD cards. You will also need to download a Wii update that will allow you to play virtual console sports meeting off of your SD card.
4. You will need a debit/credit card to buy Wii points that will allow you to buy sports meeting. Simply input the right information in the required fields, and that’s all there is to it.
5. Lastly, check out a certain website that I am not allowed to mention here for reviews of Virtual Console sports meeting so you can make an informed buy.
It’s also worth noting that the Virtual Console offers many sports meeting that can’t be bought on Amazon like import sports meeting such as Sin and Punishment (really fun) or NEO GEO sports meeting, which I have yet to find on Amazon; but, those are just a few examples. I could certainly elaborate further, but I reflect you have the general thought.
In conclusion, the Virtual Console has literally hundreds of sports meeting to choose from, and it doesn’t end there, either. You can also buy titles from Nintendo’s WiiWare service. For the retro gamer, the Wii can be an invaluable resource, and it comes highly recommended.
