First, don’t listen to the fan boys for this game. They are everywhere and try to make this game out to be something splendid, when it’s really only an average game.
Second, this game has DRM on it, that when you install, you must be connected to the internet. If you try to install this game more than twice, for any reason and Lord knows no one needs to know our confidential affair, but if you try to install more than 2 times, you get an error that prevents you from playing this game for several months. That’s right, you can’t call someone to play more(like EA and Spore), you have to wait months before you can play again. All from the officials, not making this stuff up.
Third, don’t buy this game if you don’t like stupid DRM tactics. If you don’t mind it, knock yourself out.
Fourth, if you do buy it and already opened it by mistake. Return it. I sent mine back to Amazon and got my all cash back after opening it. Don’t let companies screw you over, you got potential. I know I do, and I use my potential to get my cash back from these kinds of companies.
Have fun playing other splendid sports meeting with less invasive and asinine DRM!

This product has an online activation therefore I don’t in fact own the game they are just renting it to me. I wish I would have known ahead of time because I would not have bought this DRM infected game. The game is very fun but the DRM ruins the deal. I wont be buying any of their sports meeting again.
I updated my review because my original review I was to busy ranting on the DRM I forgot to talk about the game.
Mount and Blade has one of the best combat systems of any action rpg. Its not a button mashing hack and slash(well maybe a small bit in sieges) but when on horse back it feels more like aircraft combat. Mounted combat takes precision and timing. The are several weapon types such as lances, swords, bows, and crossbows. For the most part the weapons are unevenly equal in effectiveness but have a different feel to handling them. Crossbows and throwing weapons are an exception, they just plain suck. My personal favorite would have to the lances. Its quite satisfying to Couch lance a lord at the beginning of a battle. Thrusting the lance owing to the heads of infantry alot of fun to.
The graphics are not the best but it makes the game very simple to run. Nearly any modern computer with a dedicated graphics card should have small distress running Mount and Blade.
As a game, this is fantastic game that that can be loved for well over 30 hours of playtime. If you don’t mind the DRM get it(although if I had known that it had an online activation I wouldn’t have bought it).

Bought the game, spent time learning, yet the controls really let the game down as well as the poor graphics.
You do OK in training with the controls, BUT in the real game battles the controls will let you down and you will lose 95% of the time.
I rate this game a 1, as the game company did not present the gaming public with a solid product that was worth the buy price.
The game guide was excellent, and the management of the game was excellent, as well as being able to
customize your character, but thats the sports meeting only virtures.
In conclusion, you prepare, practice, just to lose each time you engage in combat…….
you would be better to buy a new pad, or a 24 pack of beer, why a pad, well this game will place you to sleep and you want to drink to forget you WASTED your cash on this game.

I selected this up based on reviews here and on gamespot. I found the game to be pretty dull. The graphics, gameplay, sound and interface are all pretty bland. To be honest I only played it for a few days, but I just had no desire to ever play it again.

I find it very hard to learn battle in this game, especially on horseback. Many scenes are extremely repetitive. It seems that it is more a trading game than a battle game. I will not end this game and am disappointed in the way it plays.
