I bought this because Time Warner Cable’s website said they did not grant a cable modem, that I would have to get one from a preferred affair partner, I said screw that and found a DOCSIS 2.0, which would be even better for me & my new IMAC Dual Core Intel machine. A month later, when the local contractor service tech finally came to install the line, he told me No, we grant the modem and will bill you for it anyway. I tried checking this out beforehand, but there is NO local friend, you have to use TWC’s toll free ‘hotline’ which usually has a 10 minute wait, I called 4 times anyway and questioned about it at least once and no one mentioned this. HTF was I supposed to know this?
This month, they have a new website and the ancient links to their ‘preferred partner’ are nowhere to be found. On TV, I see they’re pushing Quality Customer Service now. I told them just because they’re a monopoly, the didn’t have to suck SO terrible.
Anyway, Electronica Direct is fantastic, but I’m not sure if they will refund this, am I now out $59???

I bought this modem refurbished. It had a comcast logo on it, which made me reflect that it might be stolen. It didnt work, and it made a horrendous buzzing sound right when I plugged it in. Huge dissipate of cash.
