The Return of Home Run Derby The catcher is the brains of any defensive squad on the field, and as such MLB 10: The Show lets you test both your baseball IQ and your skills in the bow as you call the game, one pitch at a time, from behind the plate. Available during Road to The Show, and exhibition game play options, players cultivate their rookie Minor League catcher and bring him up to the Majors where he can lay down signs to your pitcher, offer additional pitch selections if his first pitch call is shaken off and even change signs at will, all via your controller’s face buttons. Pitches are called from a unique first-person perspective, after which the camera angle changes to a standard third-person perspective affording a better view of the entire field. This new functionality defines a whole new level of approach, demanding knowledge of pitches, opposing batters’ tendencies and the state of your own pitcher’s well-being, as well as the ability to check runners on base and handle and/or block balls that are in the dirt or wild. New Defensive Training Options No ballplayer becomes a golden glove overnight. With that in mind MLB 10: The Show includes new fielding and pitching training modes that augment the existing training functionality built into the game’s improved Road to the Show mode. Fielding military exercises focus both on the basics of player’s throwing arm, utilizing the new throw meter, as well as the more advanced combination of throwing and choice-making that players will need during game situations. Pitching training consists of a multi-pronged focus designed to improved control and accuracy. MLB THE SHOW is by far the best baseball franchise ever. There has never been a game nearly as realistic as this one. The graphics on this game are even better than the previous 2, which I thought was nearly impossible. I said the last one was the best looking sports game I had ever played, well now I’m saying that this is and I honestly don’t know how they could make it look that much better next year. I’m sure they’ll figure something out, I just hope they don’t go backwards like some sports meeting have (NBA 2K10 for example). I haven’t played but a couple sports meeting so far and haven’t started using any of the other game modes to be able to note on. I just know that as a baseball player myself, I find this to be the bordering thing to the real deal as you can get. Only reason i’m not giving it 5 stars is because….well, I’m just not one of those people that gives out exact ratings unless something is truly, truly exact. I don’t reflect i’ve ever given a game a exact rating, so a 4star from me is probably as excellent as a 10 from anyone else.

Ive played the game for a small while now and i have a road to the show pitcher, and i have a franchise going. I am also playing on hall of fame difficulty. so thats what my review will be on.
First the graphics are top notch. i was playing at miluakes stadium for my first game and u could see the shade just go across the field a litle at a time just like in real life. i dont even have an lcd tv and i am amazed at the graphics. i have a small 19 inch ancient school tv. i play alot of sports meeting and these are splendid graphics
the controlls are unadorned, but you have to know how to play baseball to play this game. i started out on one of the toughest difficulties cause i played baseball my whole life and know how to play the game. if you dont know much about baseball learn the game cause this game isnt simple. ive played about 3 full sports meeting had one close game where they beat me by one in the ninth inning. and this morning i lost bye 12 because i wasnt mixing up my pitches and it seems like the computer is guessing the pitch you going to throw and if you throw it your going to pay. hitting isnt to terrible, but dont expect to hit homerun after homerun its just like real life. i hit 2 homerun in the 3 full sports meeting i have played. the computer hit like 6 against me. the franchise mode is awsome you lead your team and you have goals your have to do before your contract is up. you choose what facilities you have to make your program better. my favorite team is the redsox but i alwayse play with the brewers cause i dont like playing with one of the best teams in the game.
road to the show is the same as always you play one position and only play when your position is needed, i started as a pitcher and have played in about 5 sports meeting. its the same as the real game you need to mix up your pitches or you will get rocked. you have goals you need to meet and things you need to do that will help build your players stats.
by and large this game is splendid, your really going to need to master hitting and pitching though. dont reflect your going to go in there and keep the same routine going cause once you reflect you have the computer figured out they might have you figured out. if you delight in baseball and like a challenge get this game, if you dont want to practice and get excellent at it you might not want to pick this game up because you might get spanked around.
i havnt played online yet so i dont know how it is if there is lag or not. when i do i will update this and let you know.

Like MLB 10 The Show… I in fact bought a PS3 a couple of years ago just for this game. Small improvements over last year continue to make this the best baseball game available!!! BUY IT NOW!!

I’ve only been playing this game for 6 or 8 hours, but I am absolutely blown away.
My early depression is that this is the release best sports game I have ever played, and I’ve played a lot of them. The graphics are the best in any sports game to date. It makes the latest Maddens look like PS1 throw away titles. I’ll update this review when I have more to say, but so far: mind blowing.
(This goes to show what some competition can do for a sports franchise. MLB 10 and MLB 2K10 are both at the top of their game. Then there’s Madden (the lone NFL licensee) which has turned into an resolution joke. NFL, take note. Competition breeds much, much, much better harvest.)

I will come back and write a more in-depth review of this game once I have established the newer dynamics of MLB 2010: The Show. I will say this, the pitching aspect of this game is virtually the same as last year. The challenge comes on the offensive side. They have certainly made hitting more of an artform on this year’s game as opposed to last year’s version. Basically what I have noticed is you have to absolutely square a ball up to make solid friend. On last year’s this was critical as well, but in this year’s version there is no way you can pull a ball on the outside corner of the plate and expect to get a base knock unless the pitcher just throws you a floater. So far, I have played 4 sports meeting, and have yet to win playing on the Legend mode on both the hitting and pitching side of the ball. Like I said, you will not notice a splendid deal of difference on the pitching side, but the hitting side has certainly become more of a challenge.
Another thing I am glad they have improved is the trade aspect of the game. Now, the trades are more realistic, and it is much harder to build your team. Right now my lineup for the Florida Marlins is Coghlan, Uggla, Ramirez, Delgado, Cantu, Hunter Pence, Cody Ross, and John Baker. I obtained Hunter Pence by signing Jermaine Dye in free furnish and trading him to the Astros. I also signed Delgado, but I have to get into a groove hitting with him. Another clean feature is this year’s version is if you are in the franchise mode and you get tired of playing your home sports meeting at your team’s stadium, you can change the location of the game.
One other aspect of the game that becomes challenging on the offensive side of the ball is the angles the game throws at you once you have made friend. I don’t know how many times I have already made terrible baserunning decisions based on some of the angles the game has given me. It certainly makes it frustrating at times, but I reflect once I get use to some of these different aspects, I will delight in this game even more. Long live MLB:The Show!
