MAG is a massively multiplayer online first-person shooter that is unique in a variety of ways. A PS3 exclusive, MAG allows up to 256 players aligned with different confidential military corporations (PMCs) to battle each other at the same time across a global battlefield. Within this persistent game world players engage in campaign and mission play that elevates their character from the ranks of a unadorned grunt, all the way up owing to the intricate command structure of the in-game officer corp. By the side of the way players players experience in-depth character customization, a robust leveling system and large-scale MMO shooter gameplay that makes MAG a game not to be missed by fans of the shooter genre.
Tale In MAG players take on the role of a member of a confidential military corporation (PMC), in a fictional Earth future. Like most MMO sports meeting, as well as some modern shooters, the ultimate goal of action is the leveling up of your character, in this case owing to success in combat against other factions made up of individual online players. At the early level players choose the PMC they will be aligned with, the physical characteristics of their character, early available weaponry, etc. and hit the battlefield with other squad members within a persistent online environment. By the side of the way you will utilize a diverse skill tree to develop your character’s abilities and skills at tactics and weapons using experience points that are accumulated in campaign and mission play in the name of your faction. These points are given out in various increments for all manner of action, whether that be objective completion, or individual actions in combat. Once characters reach a certain level they are eligible to take on command duties. These duties range from chief an eight-man squad, all the way to by and large command of more than 100 online players. Instructions are communicated and approach developed via voice chat and other functionality. Success in command positions allows for access to special “leadership bonuses” that not only can increase your abilities, but also in many cases, that of the individuals and units under your command. So, how does one give instructions to human individuals online? Just as you would to AI (artificial intelligence) characters. The beauty of MAG is that players are free to ignore instructions issued by superiors at any time. Experience point totals, the nuts and bolts of character leveling, are higher for successes achieved owing to instructions that follow the chain of command though. War, especially that featuring multiple factions, can be fought in many ways, and in MMO gameplay world of MAG it’s up to you to chose the path you’ll follow. Confidential Military Corporations (PMCs) Bound by the terms of the terms of the Millennium Accord, which prevents defense forces from crossing borders, nations with the MAG game world turn to the services of Confidential Military Corporations (PMCs) to secure interests abroad. The chief PMCs compete for contracts across the globe. Each of these maintains its own battlefield way of life and approach to military operations. It’s up to each player to choose his/her loyalty. Some of the factions players can expect to see include:

I preordered this with release date delivery, which worked perfectly. My son was able to play it for about half an hour with lots of freeze problems, which he hadn’t encountered with the beta version that he loved. After that first hour he was unable to reconnect to the server. This conundrum has lasted for the last hour now. The MAG website is either down or overloaded, probably with eamils from 10’s of thousands of mad customers.
They certainly need to fix this conundrum or they’ll find themselves alienating lots of customers.
Come on Zipper, act like you know what you’re doing!

What a Joke!
I just recieved the game from amazon. Inserted the disk and did all sorts of update.
After agreeing to a very long agreement, it shows a page: Server under maintenance.
I am trying to open [...] and I can’t even launch the game website either.
What a disappointment!

I just got the game today, the release date. I brought the game home and had to do updates for the last 30 minutes. I finally get to the point where I can play the game and the network is down and the game is unplayable. This is an online only game!!! If the server is down on the very first day, I just bought a game I cannot play. I have now been trying to play for the last 2 hours and still not anything! Thanks sony another splendid ps3 title!

Its a very dissapointing game FIRST U HAVE TO WAIT LIKE 15 MINUTES TO START PLAYING BC THERE IS A QUEUUUU AND U STAY LIKE AN IDIOT TRYING TO RESPAWN, AND THEN IS DISABLED, IF I WANT TO PLAY ONLINE WHY I HAVE TO WAIT SO LONGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG, I AM NOT COMPARING THIS GAME TO CALL OF DUTY BC IT WILLBE INSULTING THE BEST GAME EVER, EVEN CALL OF DUTY 3 IS HAS BETTER GRAPHICS AND GAMEPLAY, AND IS EASIER TO GO PLAYONLINE IN LESS THAN A MINUTE, EITHER MAKE SERVERS BETTER, OR JUST DONT MAKE AN ONLINE ONLY GAME AT ALL.
