We bought this game for our two boys to play; ages 5 and 11. They didn’t like it from the moment they started playing it. So my husband and I chose to give it a try. It took both of us copious tries to get owing to the various stages and then defeat the “bosses” in the extra stages. So many times that the game became frustrating; and not in a excellent Smash Bros kinda of way. What’s so frustrating? After the early 3 men, you only get 1 man at a time unless you earn a certain amount of points. So for most of the game you could be one and done! The concept and characters are fun to play and are visually stimulating, but logistically it’s a nightmare. Save your cash and go for something a small more player friendly!

I bought this game thinking it was going to be simple for me to do, it sounds simple enough after all. It’s kind of a mixture of pong and bubbles. You have to use your ball to hit the squares to burst them all in order to clear the level. There are pieces in the game for you to change the affect of your ball, as you can only pop the squares that are the same affect as your ball. Maybe I’m not that coordinated or something, but I just got frustrated with this game. It was taking a lot more effort than this casual gamer was willing to place into it. Nice graphics, okay music, cute tale line, but too hard for me!

As a adult gamer trying out sports meeting, I thought I’d try this one out. The game is cute. Turns out it’s like Break Out puzzle game somewhat where you have to hit the ball to eliminate certain colored circles (instead of blocks). You have to make sure that the ball is in certain affect by hitting a special block that turns it to, lets say, red, then you hit red circles only and eliminate them, then go on to another affect and do the same.
It’s a cute small change of pace from Break Out. It’s very similiar to Break out or any of those ball hitting blocks puzzle sports meeting. If you like those types, it’s excellent. I haven’t gone that far yet. I will update this review as I get further to see if anything happens such as unlocking sports meeting or gets more hard…
UPDATE: This game is fun!! Here is a better explaination…It is just like Break-Out. Except you control the ball in a different way than Break-Out. With Break-Out, the ball bounces off your paddle, whereas with M&M Break Em, the ball moves up, down or left & right with your + pad on the DS. There is absolutely no stylus usage in this game which is fine. The stylus wouldn’t work excellent for this type of game anyway.
Yes you do have to unlock some sports meeting after you’ve reached certain levels. I’ve finished the first level and am moving on to the next. This is an unique break-out type of a game that I’ve never played before. It’s a bit hard but with practice, I passed the levels. I reflect some stages get bit harder than the last. Then there seems to be a boss at the end of the level which is a bit challenging. Also I reflect this game is too hard for kids under 8? I’m an adult and having a hard time finishing some levels. I’m now 56% complete!
