This game is a really splendid game. The one and only downside to it that I noticed is the graphics. They look like Dreamcast graphics. Oh, and you also have to read. The music is splendid the gameplay is splendid and the tale is excellent too. I like the battle system in this game. The tale did take a small while to get going but that’s a not a huge deal.

Well I must say, when I didn’t know anything but the title of the game I thought, ‘Wow I marvel what Vahn Noa and Gala will be like’ or something…..But to my disappointment, so far, there is no one from “Legend of Legaia” in “Legaia 2″….Which is what I’m most disappointed about. Some of the phrases (what they say when they win a battle) are….um….stupid…I mean really, if Kazan wins a battle sometimes he says, “Ha Ha, You made me thirsty.” then he drinks from a canteen! How dumb is that! And one more thing about the characters, if Maya can’t talk, than howcome she can whine and gasp when she gets attacked? And Lang looks exactly like Vahn with black hair! One more terrible point: the monsters get like WAY harder when you get to Mt. Gabel. OK enough with the terrible points, here are my excellent points of the game.
The graphics are really excellent! (Anyone who says anything in the game is blocky, can go get their eyes checked!) And the names of the Arts are unique, not the basic ‘Hurricane’ or ‘Typhoon’ from the first Legaia game…Well my rating is a 3 1/2 to 4, but if you are a picky gamer, you might want to rent this one first.

In person, I don’t have this yet (it’s in my wish list) and
have never played it but have seen a complete guide and based on
RPG experience, the other reviews and news from friends, I’d say
it is worthy of the name LEGAIA.
To whoever wrote the JUST A GAME TO PASS TIME review, I dont
mean to insult you but YOU KNOW NOTHING ABOUT RPG AND ARE WRONG!

They traded it’s splendid gameplay for graphics;this is very evident with all the pointless un-skipable cinemas.Plus they made the characters shout their battlecries in english instead of japanese, and hearing a guy say “yeah!” for the 150th time gets ancient.
I despised the fact that they introduced a concept of “combining items to make better ones”;I’ve never liked this in a game cause you either end up with something really cool(with help from a guide) or you end up with something worthless.Plus you only win combining-items after a battle, instead of a powerful weapon or defensive armor/accesory.Needless to say that’s all you can steal from enemies as well which completely takes all the fun out of stealing.
They also did away with a free-roaming world map(in legaia 2 it has an arrow that takes you from point A to point B and back and forth….no exploring!)I felt that was unwarrantable! The game also made the enemies alot harder for some reason. This is very noticable in the second area of the game when you go into the mountains.
As for the traditonal ra-seru type creatures that you could summon by defeating them in battle(in legaia 1)I have no thought if they return in this installment. As far as I played I did not find them, and that was too long for me esp when you learn them in the very begining of legaia 1.
I’ll keep playing legaia 1,but I’ll pass on legaia 2.
