Tale Just as with the original Left 4 Dead, Left 4 Dead 2 is a first-person shooter which pits players against hordes of android-like enemies. As you would expect in a scenario where you are regularly surrounded by masses of the undead, it is very excellent thing to have plenty of help, as well as weapons at your disposal, and Left 4 Dead 2 has players covered on both accounts. This new multiplayer option tasks players, in the role of survivors to find a limited number of fuel canisters hidden in a level in order to keep their individual generators going, while other players in the role of the infected try to stop them. In addition the game features very strong co-op play support, with 2-player support locally and 2-4 player support online. The game features a wealth of melee weapons and additional items handy for battling enemies up-close and personal. By the side of with melee weapons seen in the first game, players can look forward to wielding new weapons like axes, chainsaws, frying pans, etc. Firearms are also available, but seeing as android fighting usually requires a small elbow grease, melee weapons are the mainstay. In addition, players can carry other useful items, including a variety of throwing weapons and several different kinds of support items, like flashlights to startle enemies and light the way in dark environments and healing items like first aid kit and defibrillator kits. Customize with AI Director 2.0 Introducing the AI Director 2.0, Left 4 Dead 2’s dynamic gameplay is taken to the next level by giving the Director the ability to procedurally change weather effects, world objects, and pathways in addition to tailoring the enemy population, effects, and sounds to match the players’ performance. The result is a unique game session custom fitted to grant a satisfying and uniquely challenging experience each time the game is played. Key Features

The much awaited Left 4 Dead 2 has more stink than boomer bile and smoker gas.
I am very dissapointed in this game. So many weapons yet you can only use two at a time. Chainsaws vanish after they run out of gas with no option to refuel, grenade launchers same thing, no option to ammo up, they just vanish when out of ammo. The characters in this sequel suck and are no where near fascinating or fun to play as. The levels are decent but not as cool as L4D 1 or Killing Floor. The weapons and characters have been downsized both graphically and control wise, they look cartooney, no longer realistic looking with controls not nearly as sharp as L4D 1. The new monsters are pathetic as hell save the spitter, the hordes are just irritating it’s like the insulting DLC survival mode in L4D 1 and makes the game dull just being stuck in one place killing zombies and being surrounded by android rain from the sky. Also you will be hunting for ammo every 5 mins due to the over use of enemies here. A lot of the finales are rather lame or rehashes…rock concert?, race car? and another boat? The music is crap, the new blood and gore is cool but still doesn’t make this game worth playing. The tanks are lame in L4D 2 and do not have the scary aspects or alacrity they had in L4D1. Some weapons have been lifted right out of Killing Floor which is a far superior game than this with an open level scheme, more weapons, awesome controls, better monsters, better graphics, 6 player co-op, customizable characters, perks, experience building, being able to use melee weapons/primary weapons/pistols/bombs/grenades, etc. at the same time rather than only two weapons, no dumb AI, you can in fact defend yourself when a monster grabs you and you wont be reduced to defenceless 5 year ancient girl mode like L4D and no stupid tasks like fighting a fleaheating horde of a 1000 zombies for a case of cola. KF is scary and honest with no stupid puns or goat tales like L4DII. This game could have been the update to L4D 1 Valve never gave us but now to have to pay 50 bucks again is bull. The game cover boasts more weapons and campaigns….thats bull too: 5 campaigns with 4 maps each is 20 maps….same as L4D 1 with 4 campaigns and 5 maps each….well with the new DLC L4D 1 now has more levels. The guns are copious but they are all of the same 4 or 5 guns with a different skin. Anyhow if you want awesome co-op survival horror play L4D 1 or Killing Floor. The other thing is the unstable solo/multiplayer, even when playing with only one friend or myself my game crashes every time a witch is killed….WTF? Killing Floor in fact has excellent DLC released for it regularly, new guns, monsters, maps and characters. What did valve give us? Two small new maps right before L4D 2 arrives and the joke that is survival mode after promising new guns, flamethrowers, new monsters, new campaigns. Instead we get screwed again paying another 50 bucks for a half completed update. [...]. L4D wasn’t even a finished game for 60 bucks, where the hell is the DLC we were promised for a 60+ dollar game….well I’ll tell you the L4D promised DLC is Left 4 Dead 2 with a new 60+ dollars price tag. This will be my last Valve game, they will not be leeching anymore cash from me. What a rip off. The whole southern thing is a real turn off too.

I’m sure Left for Dead is a lovely game. Or at least it would be if the frame rate during online play (with only one other person mind you) wasn’t so terrible that I had to stop playing after a release level. From what I saw it was very fascinating but unplayable.
Needed more time in the oven. If a patch doesn’t come out to fix this bs I’ll never see the second stage of the first level. Also would have benefitted from not coming out anywhere near Call of Duty.
Thinking about selling my copy but will wait to see if Valve gets off it’s ass to fix this crap first.
UPDATE: I should have done this awhile ago but the game seems fine now. Excellent fun. Playable. Better than one. Much harder. Gave more stars.

I have a very strong sense of believeing what I want and not following the crowd like most of the other humans on the planet. When I first got wind of this game I jumped on it and pre-ordered it from Amazon.com. I bought the first one last year from amazon and have not been disappointed one bit. Playing the demo until I am blue in the face has made me see a small part of this game the sly developers hit us with. THEY Gave us the last campaign [2 chapters to boot]and NOW I AM PLAYING THE FULLGAME AND AM GETTING MY BUTT HANDED TO ME AND AM LOVING EVERY SECOND OF IT! Finally a game that is similar but vastly different from the first one on a whole lot of levels. I feel sorry because of all the unenthusiastic press this game has gotten, but hey, you despise it, don’t buy it. I like it therefore I bought it. All of my friends and family members that own an XBOX360 has bought it. Gameplay is FUN, charming, engaging, FAST and bloody! IT’S A ZOMBIE GAME PEOPLE! WITHOUT THE GORE IT WOULD BE CRAP! I am glad I live in the US of A and not in Australia and the land where they make some of the most bloody Animes ever, JAPAN! What the hell is incorrect with that?! LOL! I finally see that the developers took all of our ‘ADVICE’ and here is the polished game today. The only thing that will make this game a painfull chore are the other crappy online craptastic players that impede progress and greatly contributes to the teams’ demise. I play lots of sports meeting and this is my favorite behind anything Street Fighter, the original Left 4 Dead and SUPERMAN. Get the game people, you will not be disappointed.
