So before I get into the review let’s get this out of the way. Currently there are 40 heroes, with plans for more to be added. If you buy this game you will get _25_ heroes unlocked, with the others needing to be unlocked via playing (riot points), or paying ($$). Also you won’t get all the runes you’ll end up wanting either, you just get a few. Keep in mind they give you credit towards the Riot Store which can be used to buy characters/runes, but know you don’t get everything for ~$25.
LoL is very much in the same vein as DOTA (5v5, creeps, towers etc), but there are things I like much better i.e. buying items is just from one shop, and if you have enough cash you can buy a high lvl item and it will automatically buy the items not more than it. (i.e. you could buy Sange & Yasha straight up) This game is _much_ more newbie friendly, from the “recommended items” you can buy, to lack of denying, to even the community, I found it much simpler to get into, and even now I’d say 80% of my sports meeting are excellent sports meeting, vs about 5% with dota. (Solo queue both sports meeting)
The heroes are all very enjoyable to play, and all have unique models, (everything from moogles to pirates, yarrr) voices, and abilities (and /dances!). The skills are pretty awesome I must say, I reflect they are much more aesthetically pleasing than DOTA. (once again, engine limitation)
LoL has a couple of leveling systems. You get masteries as you level, which allow you to be more offensive, defensive, or utilitarian (reflect talent trees). You also get runes, which allow you to load up “rune pages”, i.e. a page of runes that enhance your particular character. So, if you have 3 rune pages, one offensive, defensive, caster, you can choose which page you want to use after character selection, whereas masteries are honestly static, one mastery tree applies to any characters you use. On top of these two leveling systems, you’ll have your champion spells, and your “summoner” spells, which are basically two spells you can choose at the beginning of a match that you’ll be able to occasionally use on top of your particular champions’ spells. Summoner spells range from a mini teleport, to spawning a seige unit, to revealing a part of the map for some time.
The community is a bit better in DOTA, RIOT has said they have plans to help keep the community civil etc, there’s already penalties for leaving, and you can report people using swear words etc.
***Keep in mind this game is _free_ to play, but at the expense of lots of time. Buying this game will probably save you anywhere from 50-300 hours of playtime depending on how excellent you are to accumulate the same amount of characters/runes as you would playing the free version and earning everything yourself. Keep in mind RIOT does not sell potential, so aside from having less heroes to choose from, you should be on an even playing field if you play it for free. On that note, keep devs alive and support sports meeting you like!

this game is a exact 5 out of 5.
The game is an RPG that is quick paced player vs player action. why would you want to play this game? Well do you like MMORPGs but find the grind dull, do you like PvP sports meeting, do you like fun? if you answered yes then this the game for you.
matches are 3v3 or 5v5 in ranked matches. sports meeting take about 30-45 min per match.
there are lots of people to choice from. i reflect 40+ at this time.
why buy the game if you can play for free? well you get 20 guys plus a $10 game card. plus the game is so excellent how could you not want to suport it

This game has basically taken over my life. LoL is my WoW. It offers 43, as of this writing, champions with which you play. If you have played DotA or HoN, you will like this game even more because it gets rid of the negatives from those two. The Riot staff is brilliant, too. They in fact listen to what players want to see. I can say they do have their hands full, though. The game skyrocketed to over one million users in a small over three months. So it does have it’s bugs and unexpected server shutdowns, but if you can get past the couple of flaws, you’ll find an brilliant game I would easily recommend to anyone.

I downloaded the free version to see if I liked it, and I did! The graphics are about on par with Warcraft 3, which is fine enough for the purposes of the game. Sound quality isn’t much to write home about, but again, it does the job. The game isn’t about flashy graphics and sound though (which is nice, as it doesn’t require a splendid system.) It’s about quick-paced online competitions. And it delivers!
The largest conundrum I have with the game is the glitches with the server and the matching system. It’s a excellent thing they don’t charge a monthly subscription to play!

Past reviewers couldn’t have been more spot on when describing the usefullness in purchasing this Collector’s Pack. Download it for free and make sure you like it first–by all means, don’t take our word how awesome it is. But if you delight in it as much as I reflect you will, make this buy. The $10 of Riot points, Level 3 Runes, and the unlocking of so many characters will shave +40 hours of gameplay from having to earn the points for all the hero and Rune buys.
It’s fun, free, and indie gaming at it’s best.
